FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2017 31 Neighborhood Watch Thank you to all who attended the Jan. 11, Neighborhood Watch meeting. Speakers opposing the Gateway Warehouse/San Gorgonio Crossing Project on Cherry Valley Boulevard were in attendance. They suggested a letter to be written and sent to the Riverside Planning Department opposing the project. Donna Lewis, Neighborhood Watch Block Captain and Steering Committee member, also spoke and explained traffic problems that may occur as a result of the heavy truck traffic in the area. Saphire Rhodes from FirstService Management spoke about a resident who had fallen into some hedges while walking his dog in the community. She said he could not be seen from the street because of falling in the hedges. The dog he was walking stayed with him and a car passing by noticed the dog and then they noticed the man. He had no ID on him and was walking alone. Saphire's suggestion was to carry ID, and if possible, attach a luggage tag to the dogs leash in case the dog gets away. This month's general meeting will be on Feb. 8, at 10 am currently scheduled at the RCN. Speakers will be Todd Parton, Beaumont City Manager, and Nancy Carroll, Mayor Pro Tem. Please plan on attending. They will be covering several areas of interest to our community. If you see something, please say something. It is important for our community to watch out for each other. Recently, I received a telephone call from a Neighborhood Watch member that I had left my garage door open during the evening hours. My neighbor said she thought it was unusual that I had left the door open. Had she not called, I probably would have left the garage door open all night. Thank you, Gracie, for taking the time to call me. The Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee is composed of residents: Al Gettman, Andrea Henderson, Scott Britton, Judy Irving, Anita Worthen, Susan Wilson, Donna Lewis, and Jerry Monahan. If you have questions about Neighborhood Watch, please contact one of us. Thank you for your continuing interest in this great community program. ~ Jerry Monahan Our Savior's Lutheran — ELCA • Food Pantry Mon., 9 - 11 am • 20 Self Help Groups • Synagogue 3rd Friday, 7 pm • Toddler Nite Wed., 6 pm • Worship 8 & 10:30 am Sept. 11 - May, 2017 • Hmong Christian Alliance: Sundays 1-4, Wed Nights 7 pm (951) 849-3343 1320 W.
