Requests are welcome and cards will be on the table for that purpose. Let's try to build up attendance. Invite guests and friends to join us on Feb. 16, 5:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Non-members are always welcome. Remember to pay yearly dues of $25 and deliver to 1315 Cypress Point Dr., or bring to the dance. To help us save money, we would like to email monthly letters to you. The new snack menu is very delicious. Entry fee is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Call Mike and/or Carol at 845-5962 anytime. Big Band Dance 80s Plus Club For our December gathering, Ed Avina performed his wonderful repertoire of Christmas songs and golden oldies! Ed enjoys playing for the 80s Club almost as much as the 80s Club enjoys him. He sang during the meal and was enjoyed by all. What a joy Ed is to this group. Thank you very much, Ed! Our December meal was chicken piccata and pasta with lemon and capers catered by Russo's Italian Kitchen. We also had salad and a huge array of desserts from which to choose. February will also be a catered meal from Thomas Catering, of pot roast with all the fixings. So your reservations need to be in to Sandee by Jan. 30, 1469 Littler, off of Allin. You may also reach her at 797-3201. Our entertainment for February will be the Stardust Dancers. March will also be a Thomas Catering meal for St Patrick's Day of corned beef and cabbage, which will require your reservation in to Sandee by the end of February. The entertainment for March will be Sun Lakes own Notables singers. This group has been brought back by popular request. We meet the second Saturday of the month at 3 pm at the South Clubhouse. Make plans to take a walk, listen to some music, take in a movie at the Fox, or prepare a special dinner for two. Whatever you do, enjoy the time you have together. Our next meeting and caregivers' support group will be on Thurs., Feb. 16 at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room. These meetings are not only educational for you the caregiver, but are also a support group for you. All caregivers are welcome at these meetings. You do not have to be caring for a person with memory loss to attend. We are here to support and educate you, plus entertain your loved one while you are attending the meeting. Our guest speaker this month is Jeffrey Martinez, Director at The Lakes. He will present topics of interest to caregivers as well as discuss plans to expand the Lakes Memory Care Unit to the assisted living area, for people not seriously memory impaired. During this meeting your loved one is welcome in the Arts and Craft Room for games, exercises and an hour of live entertainment. This month Ray Rendon will entertain.
