40 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2017 | Int'l Culture Club Saint Valentine was a Roman bishop who was murdered because he attended a Pagan feast centuries ago; He was also a caring, kind, loving person and his following or flock celebrated him on February 14th. Centuries later we are still making this a special day of love and caring for people in our lives. Come and celebrate Valentine's Day this day with the ICC on the second Thursday evening in February. Doors to the Ballroom open at 5:30 pm and you will be welcomed by one of our board members, Evelyn or Martie. If you are a new member you won't be a stranger for long. Our buffet menu for the evening is a special treat. We will have a carving station with black Angus strip loin with au jus and horseradish sauce. Chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, seasonal squash and vegetable medley. There will be warm dinner rolls with butter and a dinner salad with mushrooms and tomatoes pre set at your table with ranch and raspberry dressings. For dessert you will be served chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle along with coffee and iced tea will be on a sideboard. Sign-ups will be on the first Thursday afternoon in February at the North Clubhouse at 3 pm, $25 for members and $27 for a non resident guest. If you need to cancel by the first Thursday afternoon after sign-up, call Carol Hurt at 769- 1315 and she will return your check Otherwise call her for a take out meal box. The Country Western Dance Club activities this month will hopefully help us get through the last of this winter, so here they are. The two February Friday Country Western Dances are on Feb. 3 and 17. Note that these are on the FIRST and THIRD Fridays this month. Friday dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. Line dance instructions will be held on Mondays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the South Clubhouse. We currently are learning intermediate level dances. Couples dance instruction will be at the South Clubhouse on Tuesdays, Feb. 14, and 28, from 7 to 8 pm. We will be teaching basic waltz steps. All couples are invited.
