12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2017 | Access Control Committee By Ginny Gallagher and Tim Taylor The Access Control Committee wishes a Happy New Year to all of our community residents! We hope that everyone remains safe and as secure as possible throughout our community, as the ACC is devoted to these efforts. As mentioned in previous Herald articles, the ACC is undertaking a major project for 2017 to transition the gate access via RFID (radio frequency identification) where our residents will be issued a sticker tag for their vehicle windshield or headlight, depending on the make/ model of the vehicle. An implementation plan will be forthcoming as we progress with our research, education, and vetting of vendors who will provide this new service. Residents will be required to turn in their old transponders and submit vehicle registration information for the new system to be effective. We expect the new system to provide greater security with accessing our community, prevent tailgating, and establish accountability of offenders. The ACC is currently reviewing and bidding competitive security firms to ascertain that we have the best services for our HOA money, and expect to present a recommendation to the Board of Directors by March. A few reminders to our residents: 1. In addition to being able to enter your guests via the dwellingLive website on your PC, you can also enter guests through the mobile phone application as previously instructed in the Dec. 2016 Herald issue. Guest access may also be obtained after hours by using the Directory located on the main entrance gatehouse building (the silver box just past the doorway in the guest lane). A guest can look up the resident by name, or the resident can provide their guest with their three digit code ahead of time. The guest just has to press the phone button and enter the three digit code number, which will then call the resident – all the resident has to do after answering their phone is to press "9" for the gate to open for their guest. However, for this to be successful, the directory has to be up-to-date with resident contact information. To update or assure that you are in the directory, please fill out an Access Gate Directory form at the Lodge. Some of you may want to change your contact number to your cell phone number. 2. It has come to our awareness that residents are entering contractors/vendors as a permanent guest to their account on dwellingLive. All service guests should be entered only for the day of service and not as a permanent guest. 3. We have observed that too many non-residents are entering through the World Cup gate entrance, including vendors and contractors, when the WC entrance is for residents only. Besides tailgaters, which usually ends up with property damage, many "guests" have been using a resident's FOB key or transponder which is not allowed, so please do not "lend" out your transponder or FOB to anyone. 4. We ask that our residents and their guests show patience, understanding, and courtesy to our security personnel at all times, and especially at the main gate when there is a delay in traffic flow. If a guest vehicle (typically a vendor) is too large for the guest lane, they must go through the resident lane, which can delay resident entry while the guest vehicle is being vetted. Please consider that the security personnel are just doing their job and trying to protect our community as instructed. The same holds true if they approach an unaccompanied guest, suspicious person (or circumstance), or a resident who is not in compliance with HOA rules and regulations. Just as we all expect to be treated with courtesy, we hope that our residents will show the same to our security personnel at all times. If you have a complaint about any security personnel or situation, you may contact the site Supervisor, Maria Martinez, or our General Manager Rick Ruth at the Lodge. We appreciate and thank you for your cooperation in helping us make our community safe and secure!
