SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | FEBRUARY 2017 9 It is a pleasure to post my first update for Solera Diamond Valley. I'm excited to be your Lifestyle Director and look forward getting to know you. The Lifestyle Department and Recreation Committee are currently conducting an online survey to help improve our community's activities. The survey is located on the home page of the association's website. Please, if you haven't already, fill out the survey and let us know how we can better serve you. Recapping an awesome end to 2016: We had a large turnout for our annual Holiday Tree Trimming and Potluck. The residents had plenty of desserts from which to choose and Baileys and coffee to warm them from the inside out. The tree was a beauty to behold with all its decorative glory. A special thanks to our volunteer group for all their help. The Holiday Brunch was a holiday success. Tony's Catering went out of their way in providing a delightful brunch. Susan Austin was kind enough to provide creative holiday games for our guests and of course we made sure the champagne remained bottomless. New Years at SDV ended 2016 in style. We had delicious dishes from Tony's Catering and Dream DJ Entertainment really set the party atmosphere for the evening. After ringing in the New Year, residents continued to party the night away rocking out to various jams mixed by DJ Bob. Buckle your seat belts as we prepare for an awesome year of activities: We are currently in the process of completing 2017 activities. The Lifestyle Department's goal is to have three to four activities each month while maintaining a low cost for our residents. Look out for new activities including Comedy Night February 25, Wine & Yin March 4, and The Silver Beatles March 31. There are currently two excursions in the works — Harrah's Rincon on February 9 and Santa Anita March 23. We will continue to add more day and overnight excursions in the coming months. Please if you have any questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to come see me. Lifestyle Director Report By Richard Booth, Lifestyle Director
