22 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2017 Transition is the process of changing from one condition or situation to another, like going from adolescence to adulthood. It gets us from here to there, and occurs in a continuous flow over a period of time. Our community has been in transition since the very first house was sold, and the transition is expected to be finalized when the last house is sold, which could be by the end of 2019. Right now, the developer, K. Hovnanian, provides a certain level of management, maintenance and financial support, but when the transition is complete we'll be on our own. For this reason we must do what we can to avoid unanticipated surprises, and prepare ourselves to take on all the assets and liabilities, and the complete governance of our great community. Enter the Transition Plan – a strategy to safely get us from where we are today to where we will be in a few short years. The first step in this plan is discovery, that is, finding out what we must know, then organizing and prioritizing the data. To this end, we have prepared a four page check list of issues to review. We are now seeking responses from the developer K. Hovnanian, the management company FirstService and various committees of our community. We hope to have feedback completed and a tentative plan in place by mid year. If you have questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact us. And you're always welcome to visit our committee meetings, which are held the third Thursday of the month at 9 am in the RCN Conference Room. ~ Willis Fagan Community Planning & Transition Committee
