54 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2017 wild bunch Billiards The "Wild Bunch" 8-Ball Billiards Group is having a great season of competition, and we are definitely on the road to bringing the Winter Championship Season Trophy back to Four Seasons. The "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league: Larry Chase, Pete Antoine, Mike Corbett, Mike Fisher, Carlos Rivera, Dale Weekley, and Gracy Luna. Four Seasons "Wild Bunch" is showing the competition that they are the team to beat! If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to come by the Billiards Room when we practice on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 pm and join in the stimulation of competitive play. We are always looking for those who want to play competitively and, who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team! ~ Gracy Luna Still missing some playing time due to wet weather, but seems to be improving from earlier this year. Even so, we gained a new member this month — an old friend of mine, Jim Samples. We're looking forward to the competitiveness and enthusiasm he brings with him. Gary Christie and I attended a Facilities meeting on Feb. 7, to explain in detail the venue improvements that we requested in 2016. All Facilities Committee members in attendance voted in agreement with requested improvements. Some time will be required to put this into motion and brought to completion. Our February social, which is always scheduled for the first Wednesday of the month and which includes dinner at the Bistro, followed by dessert at a member's home, was hosted by Dave and Barbara Thomason. Great desserts and camaraderie were enjoyed by all. Well done, Dave and Barbara. So we have some good things to look forward to in 2017 and if you're at all interested, come on out and join us. We meet every Wednesday at 9 am at the Summit. I was lucky enough to be in the final match, winning six games but losing two rendered me the runner up this month. Larry Rice won the match. His first break came due to the luck of the peas, when he got a "bye" the first round, then played four games and won four games the last of which was the Final Match against me. Good job Larry! 9 Ball is a different type of game requiring defensive plays, safety shots and cue ball placement. 9 Ball is enjoyable to play and watch as well so we have team members and interested residents watching matches to the end. This month I was fortunate to have been undefeated the entire match and ended up meeting Joe Aviles in the final match. Joe only lost two games that day, but the last was in the final round against me placing him second and gave me the championship for the month.
