FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2017 31 Neighborhood Watch Our February meeting was well attended. Thank you to all of our residents who took time out of their day to attend. Our special guest speaker was our new Beaumont City Manager Todd Parton. City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Nancy Carroll also spoke. Both gave insight into our Mello Roos taxes and how the city is looking into possibly refinancing some CFDs, which will bring city costs down. With this they are looking at a possibility that the two percent escalator per year for Area 7A may go away. If you would like more information please attend the City Council Meeting held on the first and third Tuesday of the month. City representatives will be back in the future as more information becomes available. They also touched on new businesses that are coming to our area. These include the new Wolverine Warehouse off the 60 freeway as well as a small retail outlet by the CHP office which will include Panera Bread. They are also looking at Sonic. They did discuss options that they are considering to help traffic flow as well as reduce traffic flow on Highland Springs. If you see something, say something. This is so important. If you see someone who you believe does not belong in our community please notify the Beaumont Police Department and let them check it out. They may not find the person, but the person may see that the police are cruising the area and it may be a deterrent for them to return. After you have notified the police, notify the Lodge and your Block Captain. Help keep yourself and your property safe by following a few guidelines. Park your car in the garage if possible. If you must leave your vehicle in your driveway or parking area makes sure that you remove any items that are visible through the windows. Take your garage remote with you so they will not be able to gain access to your garage. Corporal Josh Galbraith of the Beaumont PD made his vehicle inspection of cars parked in the Lodge parking areas and identified an iPad, purses, money, cords, etc. visible as he was walking by. This makes your car a target both inside and outside of our community. Home safety: close window shades at night and when you are away from home so that inside of your home is not visible. Make sure your side garage door, and door from your garage to your home is locked. The next general meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 8, at 10 am. It will either be held in the Lodge Ballroom or the RCN depending on the Ballroom repair schedule. Our focus will be safety. The neighborhood Watch Steering Committee is composed of the following residents: Al Gettman, Andrea Henderson, Scott Britton, Judy Irving, Anita Worthen, Susan Wilson, Donna Lewis and Jerry Monahan. If you have any questions about Neighborhood Watch or would like to become a member or Block Captain, please contact one of us. Thank you for your continuing interest in this great community program. ~ Donna Lewis City representatives visit with members and Four Seasons residents at February's Neighborhood Watch meeting
