FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2017 59
"The weather outside is frightful and the fire is so delightful."
Anyway, the motorcycle gods were not kind to us in January and
February. Rain, rain and more rain that always seems to come on
Thursday, which is our scheduled weekly ride day. If it's not raining,
it's cold and windy. Two of us went for a ride on the 26th… 48
degrees, wind 15 to 20, and at 70 miles per, that puts the wind-
chill factor at 35. Not freezing, but close enough. We rode to Palm
Desert for breakfast at Elmer's. Two weeks prior to that, five riders
rode Dillon Road to Thousand Palms and on to Burger and Beer for
brunch. Here's hoping March will be a little kinder!
On-going activity: We hold a monthly meeting the first Wednesday
of the month in the RCN at 6 pm. We ride every Thursday at 9 am and
meet in the Lodge parking lot. Come join us.
Future events:
1. Death Valley trip: April 27 -30. Contact Paul Bricker
2. Sierra trip: Sept. 9 - 16. Contact Bob Howard.
3. SCMA 3 Flags (Canada to Mexico) Aug. 31. Contact Howard.
NEW TRAFFIC LAW as of January 2017: It is now legal for
motorcycles to share/split lanes between cars. Be sure to check your
rear/side view mirrors before changing lanes. ~ Steve Sarchett
