| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2017 | 9 Social Committee During a recent conversation, the question was asked, "What does the Social Committee do?" The Social Committee was formed in the spring of 2004 to plan social events for the brand new community known as Four Seasons. Fast forward to 2017 and we are still planning social events for all of you… our faithful and supportive residents. Our committee meets the second and fourth Monday of the month at 10 am in the Conference Room and is supported by 11 members, two gentlemen from the Board of Directors and our Activities Director. In September we host an annual Appreciation Brunch for those that served during the previous year as a Chair or Co-Chair, and the committee members who worked on an event. There are several annual events that are always on the calendar; our June concert on the Plaza, 4th of July, and of course, New Year's Eve. Halloween and a Ladies Luncheon are always under consideration as long as we have an Event Chair and possibly a Co-Chair to plan the event. So, what does the Event Chair and/or Co-Chair do? A committee is selected to work on the event of their choice and a budget is prepared so that the price of the tickets can be established. Consideration is given to the selection of the band as well as the menu for the evening to compliment the theme of the event. Table decorations are under consideration, as are tickets and publicity. This may sound overwhelming, but you have the support of the entire Social Committee as well as a Liaison. The Liaison will attend your meetings and answer all of your questions. She will confirm the date of your event on the Association's master calendar and take care of the administrative responsibilities. There is also a booklet available with complete event guidelines to assist you and also answer many of your questions. Upcoming social events for 2017 are already in the planning stages with the Kentucky Derby in May, Concert on the Plaza for June and our annual 4th of July celebration and more to come for the remainder of the year. In addition to the above, there are one day bus trips being coordinated for a fun-filled day with Four Seasons residents. Keep in touch with dates and venues as advertised in the Herald. Now, if you still want to know what the Social Committee does, you are welcome to attend one of our meetings. And the beat goes on…
