24 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2017 | Thoughts for the Month: Are you shocked to find that we are heading into the month of March? Where did January and February go? It brings to mind how time flies. We are caught in the early year struggle to slow it down a bit. Take a deep breath! Make good choices for the remaining months ahead. If you find you are too busy – take another breath and adjust your life accordingly. Enjoy March and all the other months ahead. Celebrations of Life: Celebrations were completed for January and February. We are not aware of all who pass in the Four Seasons community. If a celebration of life is requested, Team Sunshine is ready to help in whatever way the family may need to make this happen. We wish to express our sympathy to those families who mourn the loss of a family member over these past few months. When you think of the outreach of Team Sunshine, what might come to mind is the activities surrounding Celebrations of Life. We are so much more than that activity. As we swing into the new year, we are adjusting our teams to fit changes that occur as residents join us. Our Newcomer Team will be, again, welcoming new folks to our community; the Program Team is busy setting up their schedule for 2017; the Activities Team will also be setting their calendar for their focus for the new year; and the Cards and Telephone Team will be looking at ways to ensure that no one is missed. We look forward to a year of streamlining our services to seniors. Kindness Recognition: Our Kindness Award will be recognized in the April Herald. Special Team Sunshine Information: We encourage residents to call Margie Culton (491-4058) or Marilyn Rhyne (926-9347) for Team Sunshine information. Our two Co-Chairs can direct you to the individual in Team Sunshine who can help with your concern. Thank you. A good source of Team Sunshine information is the Caring Connection Card which can be obtained at the Lodge front desk. Please stop by and pick up your copy. If you know of someone who has had surgery, recovering from an illness, etc., please contact Trish Egan (909) 844-3852. She will send the appropriate card. This information is also passed to a "calling team." They will initiate a call as follow-up. Special Monthly Programs: We are honored to share our 90+ birthday celebration recipients. There were so many amazing photos taken at this event that we cannot share them all. Those of us who were able to attend, were privileged to be part of this special recognition. Thanks, Trish Egan and other Sunshiners who yearly pull together the details to make this happen. Our February program entitled, "Willed Body Programs for Research and Science" was well attended. Our presenters were interesting and the information provided was especially helpful for those who may consider this option. Please join us for Team Sunshine's March 15 program, "What is the Salvation Army and What Do They Do in Hemet?" This will be presented by Denise Litreal, Corps Assistant for Hemet Salvation Army Corps. Closing Thoughts: "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." Herm Albright, (1876 - 1944) We are always looking at ways to improve our services to the community and better communicate this. Our focus will always be SOS (Serving Our Seniors). Team Sunshine L-R, Bottom Row: Mary Ford, Lois Kellogg, Betty Metzger, Lucy Eileen Ferguson, Antoinette Lopez, Helen Enos (100 Years Old), Jane Pearce; Sally Munoz, Bob McAbee. Back Row: Tony Costa, William Bernatzke and Bob Pierce. From our 90 Years Birthday Party
