| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2017 | 31 March is upon us and we will have a fun holiday dinner so join us on March 3 at the South Clubhouse. Doors open at 5:30 pm. Our meetings are always the first Friday of the month. We have a few changes so members please read carefully. Dinner checks will be turned into Carol Choisnet. Her address is 610 Torrey Pine Road. She will have a box out front for checks. Her phone number is 769-2616. Dinner is $15. If you have a question about the dinner continue to call Provi at 845-1601. Membership checks for Jeri can be dropped off at Carol's too. Membership is $20. Please put my name on the envelope. This change is just to make it easier for our members: one stop for everything. I was asked if you can bring a guest from Sun Lakes. If someone would like to see what we are about they are welcome to join us, once. The next time they will have to pay the membership first. If you would like to bring a friend that doesn't live in Sun Lakes, you may do so at $20 for dinner. We will celebrate March and St Patrick's Day. There will be corn beef and cabbage, boiled potatoes, salad and Irish soda bread. This month's dessert will be one of Provi's spectacular surprises, with coffee and water provided. You are welcome to BYOB. As always Jeanette and her team will decorate a spectacular room going with the night's theme. We have lots of new members so please be sure to get your checks into Carol ASAP since we can only hold 105 people, per the fire department. It's first come, first serve. If you need to cancel, you must do so by the Friday before our dinner/meeting to be reimbursed. A suggestion; many people bring their checks the night of the dinner for the following month. If you would like to sit with a new friend be sure that your request is on your check envelope and I will try my best to honor your request. I am often asked if only Italians can join the Italian club. We are called Paisano, which translates to "Friend," we are open to all. Our only requirement is that you enjoy having fun and love people. I love to hear from our members. If you meet people that you think might mix well with the Paisano Club, get their card, get their names, get there phone numbers or just drag them to me… and I will try to get them to perform for us. Paisano Club The Sun Lakes Computer Club meetings will be March 2 and 16 at 1 pm in the Multipurpose Room in the Main Clubhouse. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month. Our summer meetings (July, August, and September) are held only on the third Thursday of these months. The club is for persons of all computer skill levels. Each meeting will feature various topics and speakers. Handouts are given out for each presentation so you can take notes. This is a great way to share information and learn some of the ways in becoming an effective computer user. March topics: March 2: Windows Tips and Tricks 2017 March 16: Questions and Answers Future topics are: April 6: Internet Part 1 April 20: Internet Part 2 Membership dues are $20 per year, per household. Computer Club It's hard to believe that someday I'll be an ancestor and everything about my life, schools attended, houses lived in, marriage and family life, and style of living will be researched and recorded. This month our Genealogy Society program addresses this very subject. Shake the dust off and bring all those memories of your ancestors to share to the meeting, Wed., March 22, at 1pm in the Multipurpose Room. These might be photos, diaries, family bibles, antique gems, military awards, old trophies, or hand written love letters from the past. Little did these ancestors know that all their trinkets would someday be treasured and preserved. Flash forward to today and acknowledge that in the future we will be those ancestors.
