| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2017 | 3 By Doug Swenson FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK Lately, I have had several residents of Sun Lakes Country Club ask me how one gets the attention of the Master Board on any given subject. As I have noted previously, a casual question on a minor subject might get attention right away since very little investigation would be needed to resolve. Large issues are a different situation entirely. If you feel you have a major issue that needs attention, the best way to get the attention of the Master Board is to send us a letter. By documenting the situation, we all get the same facts as opposed to an interpretation of a conversation with one member of the Board. Once we receive the letter, the following are the steps taken: 1. Review letter for accuracy and complete description of issue 2. Determine if letter should be reviewed by committee 3. If so, give to proper committee chair for the committees review and written response back to Board 4. Have proper Associa/PCM department review and provide Board with their feedback 5. Item is added to next Open session agenda 6. Board discusses and takes necessary action As you can see, this process can take some time. If it is an emergency, the process can be sped up but non-emergency issues can take several weeks. The Board isn't trying to slow things down but we need to get all the correct information if we are going to make an informed decision. Over the last two months there have been several articles mentioning the upcoming Master Board election. As of close of business on Feb. 27, those residents interested in running for the two positions available became known. Profiles of the candidates will be available on the table in the walkway from the lounge to the veranda in early March. The candidates will have two public forums to give you their opinions on the subjects asked by the attending residents. These forums will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Mon., March 13 at 6 pm and Tues., March 14 at 10 am. The ballots will be mailed to all residents on March 13. They need to be completed and mailed back by April 3 to be counted. If you don't get them mailed back, you can bring the completed ballot to the Main Clubhouse Ballroom prior to 9 am on April 12. Make sure you attend a forum and/or individual coffees to get your questions answered so you can make an informed decision and vote for the two candidates of your choice. Thanks for the memories… This year marks the 30th Anniversary for Sun Lakes Country Club. With that in mind, we are planning a celebration for the first part of May. We would like to ask any residents who have memorable pictures of Sun Lakes through the years to please bring them to the Recreation department so they can be displayed. All pictures will be returned. For any questions please call Jason at 769-6651.
