friends of bocce The Fall Bocce Tournament begins the week of Sept. 10, skipping Labor Day week. If you haven't signed up yet, there is still time, but not much! The deadline for entries is 5 pm, Aug. 31. If you're already a member, your team only needs to pay the team fee of $3 pp, $12 per team. Entries go to Steve at 1463 Birdie. When you get your schedules, you'll notice a big change. We're going to try a split schedule this fall. We'll be continuing the summer hours for the first five weeks, that is, 5, 6, 7, and 8 pm. On the sixth week the schedule will move to the usual fall/spring times, 3, 4, 5, and 6 pm. This is, obviously, our attempt to better deal with the temperatures in September and early October. Depending on how well this works, we may do the same thing in reverse in the spring. This is NOT going to be as confusing as you may now be thinking! The pickleball & paddle tennis Do you want to have fun? Improve balance, agility and cardio? Then join us in the fastest growing sport among seniors in the Nation! No equipment? No problem… Just give us a call! Instruction and equipment can be provided! Courts are at the Main Clubhouse, next to the Pro Shop. Pickleball hours are Monday thru Saturday, 8:30 am and Monday evening at 5 pm. Paddle Tennis hours are Thursday and Friday at 8 am and Tuesday and Thursday evening at 5 pm. That's what you'll find with our group. Haven't played since you were a kid? Doesn't matter… we have players of all skill levels. We play Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 - 6 pm, and Sat., 10 am - 12 noon on the wood floor of the Main Clubhouse Ballroom (normally). We play under the Recreation Department, so see the Events Board across from the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk for more information. You can also check online at www.sunlakescc.com and click on "Recreation" then click on "Classes," and finally click on "Table Tennis Group. " Proper footwear is required (tennis shoes).
