Summer individual achievements for men as of press time are: High Scratch Series, Bob Greb; High Game Scratch, Bob McLean; High Series Handicap, Ken Smelker; High Game Handicap, Ray Struchen; High Average is held by Bob Greb with an impressive 201.37. Most improved male bowler is league President, Ken Elsing. For the ladies, summer individual achievements are: High Series Scratch, Bridgette Greb; High Game Scratch, Mitzi Taniguchi; High Series Handicap, Dianne Everley; High Game Handicap, Bonnie Heir. High Average goes to Karen Struchen with a 167.88. Most Improved bowler is Candy Hardy. Our Summer League bowling banquet will be held on Sat., Sept. 1, at the South Clubhouse. A summer barbecue buffet is planned with special edible centerpieces created by Karen Struchen and her committee. Gene Sax at the helm of the good ship Hit & Miss, and crew, Barbara & Stan Semic and Sally Brown have maneuvered into first place. Only one game behind is the team 4 of Us, Helen & Sandy Hepburn, Bob Greb and George Thiel. Karen Struchen, piloting her team, Split Happens, with George & Ginger Chavez and Ray Struchen, is one game behind also. The Pretenders and the Late Comers, captained by David Kelley and Gordon Wood, respectively, are only two games back. It promises to be a fight to the finish. The Winter League has been organized, and will begin the week after Labor Day, but if you still wish to bowl, call Bud, 845-555.
