Ceramic Corner Blog CLUBS & GROUPS Fall is arriving and time for those fall colors to begin appearing. We will be working on many different things for this fall. Beginning with Halloween there will be pumpkins, witch's hand coffee mug, bony grip coffee mug and also a free form bowl for your table all with those fall colors in mind. Students currently have been working on Spanish tiles, pitchers, butterfl ies and dogs, and they have been turning out beautiful. We have a variety of samples for your viewing in the craft room, so come join us and let your creativity loose. Ceramics Class meets every Wednesday at 1 pm ~ Pamela Mayoral, (951) 897-1922, email: tails2scales@hotmail.com. Drawing & Sketching There are two classes available for Drawing and Sketching. Monday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon, and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm The Monday classes are based around a specifi c semester and the Wednesday classes are ongoing throughout the year. The evening classes typically have the more advanced students, many who have begun to work with colored pencils, in addition to graphite. A student can attend any of the classes, ie: Monday's & Wednesday's or just one. It is STRONGLY recommended that new students attend the 1st class of a new semester on a Monday morning before deciding which class day they prefer. It is there that you will get to learn the supplies that you will need and honestly, the fi rst class is lots of FUN! The students have been absolutely thrilled with their fi nished works of art, getting much satisfaction by framing & hanging them. I, as the instructor, have been fi lled with pride and admiration. The new term begins Mon., Oct. 22, 10 am to 12 noon in the 26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2012 Arts & Crafts Room in the Lodge. The class is led by Rob Kelman, (951) 992-9156, e-mail, rbkdesigns@verizon.net. Please call or email with any questions that you have. Free. You provide supplies only which will be discussed in the fi rst class. Just bring a sheet of paper & a pen or pencil for taking notes! To tap into your "Artistic Talents." Many times the best students are those who wanted to pursue art but something got in the way. Whether it was a parent, spouse, friend or circumstances, now is your chance to renew your lost passion. It doesn't matter if you have never drawn before, you used to draw years ago, or if you are an accomplished artist. The classes typically have a mix of all three. The results of the past classes have been astounding! Each student works from a Black & White photo of their choosing, at their own pace. We DO NOT use a single Still Life set up, which everyone draws from. This class is about individuality. ~ Rob Kelman Crafters It's time for you to fi nd out how much fun it would be if you came to join us for crafts! We meet on the fi rst and third Thursdays of the month in the craft room at 5:30 pm. We hope to see you there! ~ Pam Kelly & Rita Partida
