44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2017 We are rehearsing for upcoming performances. First the PG 55+ Show (not for children) on May 19 and 20, then the Way Off Broadway Show on Oct. 20 and 21, and finally the Holiday Show the first weekend in December. While all that sounds far away, it takes time to learn new music and perfect it in time for a performance. Besides that, some of the Four Season Singers will be performing solos in the shows along with being in the choir. While we are doing all that we are helping our posture, clearing our sinuses, practicing how to breathe correctly, releasing oxytocin and endorphins which helps us feel happier and less stressed, improving our lungs and circulation and abdominal muscles, socializing and having a really good time. Remember the shows are free entertainment (contributions are always welcome). Come out and support us when we do our shows – because this group of individuals works hard to sound good. If you are interested in performing with us, contact me and I will put you on my email list that will give you more specific information. To join or if you have questions about the Four Seasons Singers, call (951) 797-3466 or email me at bawasco@dc.rr.com. ~ Barbara Wasco Four Seasons Singers "What you never heard in history class," the AACC learned during their March meeting. Khalif Rasshan, executive director and curator of the African-American Museum in Pomona, shared a slideshow presentation that revealed many unknown facts about the origin, leadership, and cultural contributions of African and African- American people around the world. The museum focuses on education, health and wellness and community outreach through the use of exhibits, youth programs, and community engagements. It was noted that the University of La Verne is in constant support of the museum. Hours of operation are on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is $5. The AACC members are planning a group trip to the museum in the near future. If you are interested, come to our next meeting! We invite you to join us and become a part of a group that is making a difference in our community. We meet the first Monday of the month in the Lodge Card Room at 6 pm. For more information please contact Joyce Allen at (951) 769-4354 or Roxie Elliott at (951) 769-2517. ~ Regina Thomas African American Culture Club
