New Architectural Standards & Regulations are now in effect
The revised Standards & Regulations (formally called Guidelines)
were approved by the Board of Directors in January. They are being
printed and one will be mailed to you. Should you be planning on
making any alterations (changes) to the exterior of your home before
you receive the new regulations, check with Michelle at the Lodge
before applying for approval.
Here are a few of the items for which you need approval from the
ARC before you do them:
1. Replacing or removing a tree. All new or replaced trees must
be five feet from any property line or structure (house, garage,
pool, fence or wall).
2. Erecting (installing) a flag pole. It must be five feet from
property line or structure.
3. Installing a patio, retractable or fixed awning, or a shed.
4. Widening, painting or replacing a driveway, curbs or garage
door.
5. Adding a wall, stones, bricks or pavers.
6. Removing your lawn, or using any other ground covers.
7. Installing artificial turf, rock, bark or boulders.
8. Installing solar panels, satellite dish, gates and fixed barbeques
or fixed water fountains.
9. Installing screen door (so called disappearing screens
excepted).
10. Painting any exterior part of your house if you are using a
different color than the original or one already approved by
the ARC.
11. Any landscape changes need to be drawn on a PLOT PLAN
(sample Plot Plan diagram available at the Lodge).
12. Installing lamps, solar lights or low voltage lights.
13. If you are making any changes or adding anything to the
exterior of your property, you need ARC approval to do so.
Yard Maintenance
With all the rain we received, plants, trees and all other growth
items need attention.
1. Prune trees and plants that hide your street address numbers
(city law).
2. Prune trees and plants that overhang into your neighbor's
yard.
3. When replacing plants, be sure they are the same kind and
size.
4. Remove or prune plants and lawn that have grown out over
the sidewalk or curbs.
5. Feed your plants. The rain may have washed out any nutrition
they need.
6. Weeds – weeds – weeds… pull them out.
