| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2017 | 3 Without a doubt, it is Springtime once again! With this year's substantial rain, and now our warm, sunny days, we are certainly enjoying all the renewed growth of plants and trees. As our community matures, we appreciate even more just how beautiful our surroundings are. So much of what we enjoy within Four Seasons is the culmination of countless hours of diligent work by literally hundreds of caring, unselfish volunteers who have participated in our committees' work over the past dozen years. Their efforts, supported and endorsed by volunteers serving as members of our Board of Directors during those years, are truly appreciated. So, time marches on. And, over time, we've seen a transition of people volunteering in many capacities. Some continue as charter members of committees, while others may have left one committee to join another. Still others opt to participate in more than one committee. Although we haven't officially polled them, most likely they all have one common denominator among them, and that is strong desire to "give back." Not only do they seek to contribute, they also possess positive attitudes. What a wonderful spirit to have! As noted playwright, Sir Tom Stoppard says, "A healthy attitude is contagious, but don't wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier." So, if you are relatively new to our community, or a long time resident who has never volunteered, consider taking a participative role. You won't regret it! As a reminder, we hold our Annual General Meeting this month on April 19th and homeowners in good standing will elect four members to serve on our Board of Directors. This year, we will be electing three members to serve regular 2-year terms, and one member to fill the remaining year of a vacant Board seat. Thus, there will be four seats on the Board of Directors to fill. As of the March 9th deadline to submit applications, we had five people submit candidacy papers. However, after the deadline, one of the applicants withdrew his name from consideration. So your slate of candidates are, in alphabetical order; Russ Brown, Jim Crase, Jim Hatcher and Gene Hikel. As mentioned in previous publications, the three candidates who receive the highest number of votes will assume the three 2-year terms, and the candidate with the fourth highest number of votes will fill the 1-year vacant seat. We are fortunate and grateful to have folks in our community who are willing to put themselves forward to serve in this capacity. Now all of us must fulfill our duty to cast our ballots. To satisfy quorum requirements, we must receive a minimum of 50% +1 ballots (which equates to 554 ballots). Therefore, it is imperative that you complete and submit your ballots by April 19th so that our election process can be completed and certified. Should we fail to achieve a quorum of ballots, the Annual General meeting will be adjourned and the election process will be continued until the required quorum is met. So please be diligent in this regard by promptly completing and submitting your ballots. Endeavoring to make our Four Seasons community the best it can be, considerable effort has been put forth by many of your friends and neighbors. Let's all pull together and continue this valuable tradition to make it a place we are proud to call our home. Message From the Board of Directors Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Ken, Jim, Tony, Gene and Don, Russ Brown, Vice President
