28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MAY 2017 STAG: Senior Transportation Assistance Group Interest Group STAG is making extraordinary progress! Recent events attended include the T-NOW, Riverside Transit Agency's citizens' group, which meets the first Thursday of the month at Beaumont City Hall at noon. We also attended a meeting of The Pass Area Senior Connections, a new group seeking to serve seniors in our area. We will monitor this group's activities and seek opportunities to collaborate. At our April meeting, we welcomed Banning Community Director Max Calder. He was joined by Lisa Almilli, Riverside Travel Training Supervisor, who spoke about the Americans With Disability Act, Dial-a-Ride, and Riverside transportation. On the fun front, our April 26 trip took us to Olvera Street in L.A. This excursion filled up very quickly and we are hoping to repeat it in the future. To be added to our list for future outings like this one, please send an email or call and include your name(s), phone number, and email address. Great news from Morongo. They approved our request for free buffets and tours. We have selected the second Thursday of each month, which enables us to enjoy Mystery Bonus Day and the seafood buffet. We filled our quota for May and are working on June sign- ups. Anyone wishing to join us for these outings should contact us by phone or email and include the following information: Name(s); email address; phone number; year of birth; and whether or not you currently have a Morongo Rewards Club card. May 24, at 6 pm, will be our Ice Cream Social with the director of Kaiser Permanente Redlands at 6 pm. We have over 700 signatures requesting a Kaiser facility to be opened nearby. We are hoping to present cases for a local drug store to handle prescriptions that Kaiser won't mail out, a local urgent care facility and some local contract providers like those affiliated with Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Please email your thoughts regarding Kaiser to us prior to the meeting. It is important to have a powerful showing at this event. Meanwhile, please be sure to sign our petition regarding Kaiser services in the Pass area. The petitions are located just outside the Lodge Movie Theater. Networking really works to serve our residents. Last month, we received a call from a Four Seasons resident needing help with transportation daily to Kaiser Fontana for a two-week period. We got five volunteers to assist. Many thanks to these generous souls. Regular STAG meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at noon in the Lodge. All communication may be directed to the following: brendarteeman@verizon.net or (951) 845-8477. ~ Brenda and Richard Teeman
