| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2017 | 3 Gosh, it is now May and the Summer months are just around the corner. I must say that I now have a better understanding of my grandmother's comment about how fast time seems to go by as you get older. And, living in an active adult community seems to accelerate the passing of time even more! So, most of us have come to realize just how precious time is, and if we are prudent, we seek to spend our time wisely. Here within our Four Seasons Community we have a variety of optional ways to spend our time. We have an incredibly active Social Committee that is always seeking to keep us entertained with an assortment of events throughout the year. Our Activities Director is equally engaged in planning supplementary activities. Additionally, we have a number of clubs that cater to a plethora of extracurricular interests, from exercise to artistic expressions. If you have not yet availed yourself of these many options, just spend a little time reviewing our monthly Herald Magazine to find out just how active this adult community is, and find something that suits you. With the advent of summer months, we also begin to see some changes in how our amenities are utilized. As the weather warms, the swimming pool becomes significantly more attractive, and entices us to make more frequent use of this wonderful resource. And the more tenured members of our community will also tell you that use of this amenity has not been without some degree of controversy. Your Board of Directors clearly recognizes that there are essentially two diverse opinions about how our pool should be utilized, by whom and when. Some believe that, as a 55+ age community, priority use of the pool should be for our senior residents. Still others eagerly look forward to the time of year when their grandchildren come to visit, and they enjoy bringing them to the pool to cool off and have fun. Regardless of which of these camps you may find yourself aligned, we should all recognize and appreciate that neither purpose is an exclusive entitlement. Community Rules and Regulations have been established, with considerable input from our residents, to help facilitate a reasonable shared use of our pool. And, during the peak times of summer months, the HOA employs a Pool Monitor to ensure compliance and safety. So, by all means, enjoy this resource, but also be respectful of others in the process. Our Annual General Meeting and election was concluded on April 19th, and as a result we now have a full complement of seven members on our Board of Directors. Subsequently, the newly constituted Board of Directors adjourned to Executive Session and elected your Board Officers who will serve over the next 12 months. We are grateful to have folks in our community who unselfishly offered themselves to serve in this capacity. And we want to also thank all residents who fulfilled their civic responsibility to complete and submit ballots in a timely manner. Your Board of Directors looks forward to serving our Four Seasons Community. With your help, and a collective commitment to serve the greatest good for the greatest number, there is virtually no limit to what we can accomplish. As renowned artist Pablo Picasso once said, "Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not." Message From the Board of Directors Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Ken, Jim, Tony, Gene, Don and Jim, Russ Brown
