22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | May 2017 | We all know how important our ABC's are so let's put them to work for our health. Below are our ABC's of health everyone can use to increase their vitality. A. Add 30 minutes of Aerobic activity four times per week. B. Start off with a healthy Breakfast each day. C. Skip the Caffeine for one day per week. D. Drink eight glasses of water per day (minimum 8 oz. per glass). E. Rest your Eyes when using the computer. Look 20 feet away, for 20 seconds, every 20 minutes. F. Eat five servings of Fruits daily. Juice counts. G. Replace white bread or pasta for whole Grain. H. Start adding a Heart healthy Omega-3 fish oil supplement to your daily routine. I. Increase your outdoor activities by 1 hour (total) each week. J. During your favorite TV program, Jog in place during the commercials. K. Use Kale and spinach instead of lettuce as your salad greens. L. Be a Label reader to make a healthier choice each day. M. Include a Multi-vitamin to your morning. N. Commit to one day of complete and healthy Nutrition each week. O. Use Olive oil for cooking and salad dressings. P. Protect your skin against skin cancer. Apply sunscreen before going out in the sun. Q. Use Quinoa to replace rice. R. Reduce stress by practicing deep breathing when you feel your blood pressure rising. S. Take a two minute Stretch break at 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm Monday through Friday. T. Replace coffee and caffeinated drinks for refreshing green Tea, 1 day per week. U. Use skim milk, 2% milk, almond or soy milk in your coffee instead of cream. V. Eat five servings of Vegetables every day. Vegetable juice counts too. W. Walk for 15 minutes three times a day, three days per week. X. Ok, this one is a freebie! Y. Try one new Yoga pose each week and practice, practice, practice. Z. Get your ZZZZZZZZ's.
