44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2017 Amphitheater Our 2017 Four Seasons Summer Concert Series began last month with a swimmingly entertaining concert under the stars. On Sunday, June 25, the second concert of this Amphitheater season will feature four talented musicians who go by the name The Working Poets. They are a local group based in the Apple Valley area and have performed in more than a 1,000 shows throughout California and Las Vegas in the nine years they have been together. The Working Poets perform a wide variety of musical styles that span the 50s through the 80s. We have the opportunity to hear their version of Toby Keith (new country), Johnny Cash (old country), Creedence Clearwater, The Eagles, ZZ Top, Robert Palmer, KC and The Sunshine Band, Bill Haley and the Comets, Elvis Presely, Richie Valens and others. As always, remember to bring a jacket/sweater as it gets quite cool once the sun goes down. If you bring some liquid refreshment, all bottles need to be in a sleeve and no glass cups/glasses. If you place your chairs on the concrete/grass risers, please leave enough space, both in the front and back of your chairs for other audience members to sit on the concrete "benches." You also have the option of placing your chairs in the central lawn area; or take advantage of sitting on the pool deck to eat, play cards, etc., while enjoying the music. The sound crew now sets up the electronic equipment the morning of the concert. As there is a lot of work involving electrical cables, speakers and testing of the equipment - safety for all of us becomes a top priority! So chairs cannot be placed until after 11 am the morning of the concert. We realize our community is bigger than ever and there is no quick and easy fix for the existing Amphitheater. This less than adequate sized amphitheater will be with us for a while longer. This gives us an opportunity to develop a thoughtful design of an Amphitheater that better serves the residents of Four Seasons. But in the meantime, we can cooperate and respect our neighbors with civility and patience so all can enjoy the evening, the music and the stars overhead. ~ Doris SanFilippo The Working Poets
