We don't have any shows in June, but I understand you need the month off to catch your breath and calm your stomachs from hurting. Yes, laughing too hard can do that to you and our Twisted Cabaret II show, produced by John Horning, did just that! I live up the hill and some of my neighbors claim they heard the laughter all the way up here! As a reminder, our Way Off Broadway auditions will be on Wed., June 14, 2 pm, in the Ballroom. Choose a song from a Broadway musical from the 40s to the 70s and if you have it, bring your music with you. If you have any questions or need to arrange an alternate day/time, please call Susan Youel at (951) 769-1563. In addition, Susan will be working with the singers who need help in getting their vocal performances ready. Susan's a professional voice coach and singer, and I can assure you that you'll be in very good hands. Speaking of our shows, we are putting together ideas for what to do in 2018. Now is the time to send us your ideas of what you would like to see us perform. Please email or call (contact info. at the end of the article). Sneak Peek: I have new info but not a lot of it. I just heard that our holiday show will once again have our talented Four Seasons Singers choir serenading us with several seasonal songs but… psst, here's the news… we will be hiring a third party to perform the balance of the show! I don't know who or what yet, but when I do, I'll write and let you know more about it. If you're interested in joining our club or participating in our performances, we have meetings once a month, the fourth Tuesday at 4 pm, in the RCN. To participate in a show, you do not need to be a member. For more information, please email Barbara Wasco at bawasco@dc.rr.com. As I've said many times before, our sound, stage and crew could certainly use some additional helping hands. We give back so much to you… aren't there some folks out there willing to donate a few hours per month or so back to your community? We're a great group. Why not join us? As you all know our dance group continues to grow. To accommodate this growth a small change has been made to the class schedule. We continue to meet on Wednesday, in the Lodge Ballroom (unless otherwise notified) as follows: Beginner/Novice class, 4 to 5 pm: for dancers who are new to any form of dance, and/or dancers who have a basic knowledge of dance steps and terms. Fewer dances will be covered so more time can be spent on instruction and learning the dance. Intermediate/Advanced, 5 to 6 pm: for dancers with a solid knowledge of dances, terms and steps, and for dancers who not only have a solid grasp on dance but can also execute more complex steps and patterns easily. Less time will be spent on instruction and more time will be spent on dancing. Please feel free to attend both sessions, or the session you feel most comfortable with. A combined session will be done the third week of the following months when we celebrate the birthday potlucks (March, June, September and December). Otherwise, the last week of each month will be used as review time and both sessions will be combined for a "dance-athon". Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (909) 239- 6464. Looking ahead, save the date: Saturday, July 1, 1 to 5 for our Red, White and Blue Heart and Soul Line Party. See you on the dance floor! ~ Prisicilla Robles Performing Arts Club WAY OFF BROADWAY Auditions Wednesday, June 14 at 2 pm in the Ballroom More info. in the article
