Access Control Committee
While the Access Control team is still marching on with the
RFID article, and the updating of the new generation FOB system,
it is important to realize the other items that are happening in our
community.
We obviously are trying to maintain the standards that we set
for our community by reminding our members periodically of the
importance of safety.
You may remember that just a couple of years ago we introduced
a series of blinking stop lights to remind our members of the
importance of stopping at the posted intersection stop signs.
Well it worked well for a while, but now folks are slipping back into
the old habit of either doing a "rolling stop," or as seen in many cases
not stopping at all, simply because they do not see any traffic ahead
of them.
We do need to remind all of our Residents of the importance of
observing these stop signs and other posted signs. These signs are
street-legal signs, and just because we live in a gated community
does not mean we can ignore the rules of the road.
Should an accident occur because of running a Stop sign, you can
be prosecuted just the same as if you were on a main highway.
Section 6.1 of the of the Rules & Regulations, and Article 2 section
2.2 (vi) in the CC&Rs allows the board to enforce the vehicle code
within the community.
So we are appealing to your better nature, and requesting you
please, slow down, take a minute and respect your stop signs, and the
other safety indicators of our community.
