| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | June 2017 | 5 A Message From Your General Manager By Rick Ruth, CMCA Summer is here! With the wet weather we had during the spring, plants, flowers and even trees have grown more than they usually do. With that said, I want to focus on trees. During some recent property inspections, it has been noted that there are quite a few homes with trees in need of trimming. The branches are blocking street signs and the light from the streetlights. If you have trees, please take a look and see if they need trimming. We would like everyone's cooperation so we may reduce the number of courtesy letters that are sent out. Nuisance vs. "Quiet Enjoyment" — The CC&Rs and the Rules and Regulations talk about rights to quiet enjoyment. Every resident inherits that right when they purchase a home in Four Seasons. The common thread of home buyers is they are soon to be retiring or have retired and want to "enjoy" all that the community has to offer. Some residents have interests or hobbies they want to pursue. Many of them show off their work here in the Lodge on the Gallery Wall or in the hutch. Some hobbies involve tools and those tools may make noise on occasion. Some residents like to "tinker" with bigger toys such as autos. We have quite a few residents who own and/or restore classic cars. There are times when residents may work on repairing or restoring vehicles within their garage (as the rules state) but the appearance of "conducting" a business come into the discussion. When we receive a complaint reported in this fashion, and after speaking with the resident in question, it turns out they were sometimes repairing their neighbor's vehicle to help save their neighbor money. In this case, we notify the complainant and the issue is closed. On the other hand, if the reported activity is other than that described above, we refer to the rules and regulations that deals with "Nuisances." If the activity can be linked to the type of nuisance indicated in the rules, we will notify the resident and make every effort to resolve the situation. Dealing with these scenarios can be challenging. We understand both sides of this issue. But the question remains: what "right" is more important? The right to enjoy peace and quiet, or the right to enjoy your hobby? BOTH ARE. So, that's why we continue to ask residents to respect each other's rights, get to know your neighbors and live in peace and harmony. Your guests: If you are bringing guests to the pool between noon and 5 pm, you must register them. Registration takes place daily at the pool. Also, please take time to reacquaint yourself with our guest rules. The Board hopes that all residents can enjoy the pool and asks that you treat your fellow residents with respect when your little ones are visiting. The noon to five time period is popular with residents too, so let's all work together to make that happen. One last reminder — diapers are prohibited in the pool. Come check out the newly remodeled patio shade structure! It is another example of the dedication of our committees and the Board working together. Lastly, have a good June and to those who are taking off for the summer; enjoy your vacations. You've earned them!
