30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2017 | Yiddish Culture Club What could be better than an evening that features ice cream sundaes, meeting new people, schmoozing with friends and ends with the "Gefilte Fish Chronicles?" The YCC meeting on Wed., June 14, at 7 pm in the South Clubhouse will include all that. We will begin the evening with build your own ice cream sundaes followed by our once–a-year "Getting to Know You" segment. There will be no charge to members. Guest charge is $3. Coffee will also be available and you can BYOW if you so choose. Our final presentation of the evening, "The Gefilte Fish Chronicles" is a film, which is a tribute to all families who get together for all types of holiday celebrations. It is a true story of Passover preparations, family, fish, food and plenty of love. Three very experienced sisters, Kitchen Mavens from New York, will delight you with their kitchen bickering, skills and traditions. See how a huge old-fashioned family seder is put together from beginning to end with years- tested traditional preparation of everything most of us now just buy ready made. Due to limited space reservations are required. Contact Diane at 769-0130 or email swmbo3@gmail.com. Hope to see y'all for this fun evening. As this article is being prepared, 28 Sun Lakers rigs will be loading their RVs for a trip planned to Borrego Spring Resort and Golf Course in San Diego County. The Trail bosses will be Jim and Sue Miller. With all the rain this year the desert will be filled with lovely flowers. The Borrego Spring trip is a favorite of the RV club. The weather should be gorgeous. We have lots of games planned, a day of golf at a local golf course, and several gatherings involving food and conversations. A side trip to the mountain village of Julian is always a great experience. We have welcomed several new members this year. Jim and Sandy Alexanian will be the next trail bosses for an upcoming trip to Pahrump, NV from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3. This will include a visit to Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon and other attractions in the area. If you have a recreational vehicle and like to enjoy the company of good friends and fun times in some beautiful settings, this is the club for you. We offer planned activities at each of our rallies, or the chance to explore on your own. Activities may include golg, bocce, beanbag baseball or others. There are planned meals to get together with your fellow RV club members. It is a great group of people. If you are interested in joining our club or attending a rally as a guest to learn about us, please contact John and Peggy Andrews at 845-8295, or peggasus28@dc.rr.com. RV Club
