| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2017 | 11 10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2017 | Enjoying the Kentucky Derby with a Postive Hattitude! Social Committee Social Committee Upcoming Events Let us begin with assuring all in our community that the Social Committee is keenly aware of the many new neighbors in the Four Seasons, so we would like to take a moment to introduce to you the Social Committee. What does the Social Committee do? Well, in the technical sense we are a standing committee of volunteers in the Four Seasons Association, responsible for planning and coordinating social activities, separate from our Activities Director Louise Ceccarelli, whom also has a full plate of activities and responsibilities within our community. To name a few of the events we sponsor and plan: Fourth of July, Pool Party, Ladies Luncheon, Christmas Home Tours, New Year's Eve bash, the bus trips and too many others to mention. The Social Committee also aids in creating a community spirit among the homeowners who reside at Four Seasons Hemet. We are a group of dedicated and hardworking members who commit our time and energy to benefit our community and to keep things rolling, for your retirement enjoyment. We are a voting member committee with two non-voting board member liaisons and our Louise Ceccarelli, also a non-voting liaison, but all none-the-less instrumental to our continued success. We hope that all of you who are new to our community will seek to become involved in our many sponsored events. Without your participation and your continued assistance in helping to organize our events, we would not continue to be the spirited, fun, friendship driven, family oriented community that we pride ourselves on. We hope to see many new faces signing up to assist with our 2018 calendar, already in the planning. We welcome your new suggestions, ideas, creativity and want you to know that no matter what your talent, or experience in promoting events, every person is of value to our committee. So, please do not shy away. We are eager to meet new faces, make new friends and welcome new neighbors. We hope you will join us as we continue our commitment to breathe life into our community; so we can ensure that we continue to be "All That We Can Be!" As our community is already well aware, we were saddened by the much unexpected news of the passing of Phyllis Brumfield. As we write this to you, our pain is still raw and tears easily flow at the mere mention of Phyllis's name. All of us have experienced loss at one time or another and we accept that it is a "higher power" that determines each of our fates. We continue to muster up the strength to forge forward as we continue on in what we refer to as "life." On our journey through life, we make note of those memorable times, and we cherish those rare instances when we are lucky enough to cross paths with that "special someone" who touches us to the core of our soul. Reflecting, we find that sometimes that special someone is gifted to us for a long standing friendship, sometimes just for a short piece of our life and sometimes only for a brief moment in time. Yet, the lasting imprint they leave upon us is none-the-less life changing and remains etched in our hearts forever. Phyllis Brumfield has proven to be that someone, to so many of us. She was a lady in every sense of the word. Her heart transparent in her beauty which shone from the inside out and her soft spoken voice which brought comfort at the times you needed it most. She wore her faith with pride and shared her belief in every departing good bye, with a soft kiss, a sincere hug, and "God Bless you." Phyllis Brumfield was a matriarch in this community, dedicated to all who lived here. She possessed a zest for life and enveloped every moment she was given. She loved her family, her friends and her community. Her years of endless dedication to the Social Committee and all of her continuous involvement, some which extended far beyond The Four Seasons, was a testament to her personal commitment to make the world a better place to live. Phyllis Brumfield will be deeply missed, but forever remembered. She lives on in all whom she touched and we are certain she is smiling down upon us all. We all miss you dear lady, until we meet again. "The song is ended, but the melody of our Dear Phyllis lingers on." ~ Irv Berlin Until we meet again… DECEMBER '63 BAND Our "December '63" Band (Frankie Valli & Four Seasons Tribute) was a hit! There was dancing and lots of singing along that filled the night. Friends enjoyed good music, great hors d'oeuvres options thanks to Francisco and we all had another memorable night. We thank our Committee Liaison Bev Rockvam and her committee Chair, Janice De Pew and all committee members who helped to put this event together, who are always instrumental in our events success — job well done. POOL PARTY It's Baywatch time, so get ready for our big "Splash" of a night! Our Social Committee presents "Life's a Beach… Party on at the Pool." Linda Adkins our liaison, our Committee Chair Robin Rickert and all Committee members who we are certain will present an evening of enjoyment poolside. Keep watch for future details, and we hope all of you will be in attendance to enjoy this event. Ticket sales to begin July 6, so don't miss out. FOURTH OF JULY The Social Committee is proud to announce our upcoming "Fourth of July Event" which is days away! It is sure to be a night filled with wonderful music presented by One-2-Many, great food by Francisco, flag ceremonies, and a night to remember! How lucky, we all are to be Americans. We thank our Liaisons Irene Chapman and Sandy Tiffin, our Committee Chair Margie Culton and ALL committee members for their hard work and dedication in helping the Social Committee present such a wonderful Celebration of Freedom in our community.
