The June 27 trip to San Juan Capistrano for lunch at the Cedar Creek Inn and shopping, was enjoyed by all. We still have a lot of great events coming up, so don't miss out on the fun. This month, July 11, we are going to Carlsbad for lunch at the Green Dragon. This event is headed up by Pat Hall. Our regular Ladies Club meetings are on the fourth Monday of the month in the Lodge Ballroom at 2 pm. Our next meeting is July 24. We would love to have all of our current members and new ones attend and liven our club up with some new ideas for club activities. Mah Jongg Club Want to learn a new game to challenge your brain? Mahjong will do just that! The Mahjong Club would like to invite you to join us this summer and have a fun time playing and socializing. We play every Monday and Thursday from 1 to 3:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room. If you want to learn how to play, we have written instructions and someone is always available to teach you. You are welcome to come and observe anytime when we are playing. Hand & Foot Summer is fast approaching, what will you be doing on those hot summer days? Come on down to the Lodge and play Hand and Foot. If you don't know how to play, we will teach you in a jiffy. This is an easy game to learn and everyone will help,so don't be shy. Bring a snack to share and be there about 15 minutes early to find a place. Our station is the Lodge Multipurpose Room. We depart every Tuesday at 6:30 pm on the dot. The travelers welcome all! For more info call Trish Manley at (951) 515-5743. Double Deck Pinochle Join us Fridays at 10 am in the Lodge Multipurpose Room. We are a small group hoping to expand. Don't know how to play Double Deck Pinochle? We will teach you. It is a lot of fun. For more information, contact Dick Tarpening (951) 766-7613. scrummage The Scrummage group is really enjoying learning new games. Some of the games we've been playing include Rummikub, Farkel, Milles Borne and Racko. If you have a family favorite that you would like to share, bring it on down. Our primary objectives are to have a good time, learn some new games and keep our brains active. We meet on Monday afternoons at 3:30 pm in the Lodge Multipurpose Room, and would love to see more people come join us. Come join the Four Seasons Bowling Practice Group at AMF Hemet Lanes, 2850 W. Florida Ave., Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm. Cheryl Robinson will be available to help with tips for improving your game. For more information, call (951) 926-6842. Bid Whist Club The Bid Whist Club meets on the first Friday of each month from 2 to 5:30 pm in the Card Room. We bring snacks for sharing during the games. No need to pre-register, just come to play whist and/or just to socialize and have fun. To arrange for lessons or for more information please call LaDean Hatcher at (951) 677-7166. Bridge Club Wanted! Bridge players… we meet Tuesday at 1 pm. There is a sign-up sheet in the Game Room. Come have some fun with us! Please be early — don't be late! Call Annette Smith for info: (951) 663-0949. Bunco Babes Bunco will be July 28 in the Card Room. All reservations or cancellations MUST be made by Mon., July 24. Space is limited to 32 women. We are filling up fast. Due to reservation requirements, we are unable to accept same day walk ins. Bunco is a game that is very easy to play or learn. We welcome new members to join us. We meet once a month on the fourth Friday. Please feel free to give it a try. If you are new in the neighborhood, it is a nice way to meet some nice ladies. We will always go over the new guidelines for anyone who has not heard them. You are welcome to bring your own drinks, but snacks will be provided. Poker Are you interested in joining us for a game of chance? We play every Monday and Thursday starting at 12 noon in the Lodge Card Room. Never forget the most famous quote from W. C. Fields: As Zeth spreads his money on the table, he excitedly asks, "Is this a game of chance?" "Not the way I play it, no." We do not have a W. C. Fields, so come join us! Channel your life's experiences, the things that made memories - take those memories and write about them. Let your written memoir be a legacy for your children and grandchildren so they will know how you lived your life. Have fun doing this by joining my Memoir Writing Class. While you're at it, you can also enjoy the home baked refreshments I bring to class each week. Come see for yourself how gratifying it is to recall the past days of our lives.
