46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2017 All residents, come and join the Four Seasons at Beaumont FRS Radio Club. If you currently have an FRS/ GMRS radio, or if you are thinking about purchasing one in the future, we can help. We will teach you the fundamentals and the features of your radio and how to best utilize it for recreational activities or in an emergency. We can accomplish this with classroom settings where we will explain each feature and when to use it. We will conduct exercises in the form of Radio Rallies to simulate a dynamic real life environment where changes occur often. In general, you will meet those with similar interests and can pass on their experiences to you. This club was formed for those residents interested in maximizing their radio knowledge and the use of their FRS/GMRS radios. Our first meeting was held on May 19 and we discussed the activities and the direction the members of the FRS club will pursue. We meet every third Friday of the month in the RCN Conference room at 10 am. ~ Alfred Blair Community FRS (Family Radio Service) Club We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the RCN main lobby room; thus, our August meeting will be Aug. 15. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings, workshops, speakers, field trips and in-house demos. The genre for our July meeting was "Reflections." Many beautiful and unique pictures were submitted by members. We then did a constructive critique of those photographs. Our club will be showing some of their best photographs in the HOA Art Fair scheduled for next month. For the coming year, we'll be planning more in-house demonstrations of photo equipment and use of various types of photography software, workshop, both in- house and in the field, guest speakers and much more. The summer months are still upon us which sometimes means vacation pictures. Come visit us to learn tips and tricks on how to enhance those holiday photos. We hope to see you soon.
