10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2017 | Social Committee The Social Committee extends heartfelt appreciation to Margie Culton, Event Chair, her amazing 4th of July Committee, and the many volunteers who donated countless hours of their time to plan and provide a memorable evening for more than 300 Four Seasons residents, their families and guests. Words alone cannot do justice to the sights, sounds, and smells that filled your senses as you entered the plaza on the evening of July 4th. Twinkling lights, gently waving flags, and beautiful red, white, and blue decorations turned our plaza into a Patriotic Wonderland! The sound of laughter filled the air in addition to the mouth-watering smell of barbecued ribs and chicken. The delicious dinner, catered by our own Francisco, was served by several members of our HOA Board of Directors and members of The Sunshine Team. As flags of the various branches of our military were respectfully carried in, hearts swelled with pride and tears fell from many eyes as we all reflected on the amazing country in which we live and the cost paid for the freedoms we enjoy today. Then, as the National Anthem was played, the crowd was surprised, and in awe, as all eyes turned skyward to see two planes soar across the plaza - one doing a "barrel- roll" - in salute to our program. Truly, it was the "icing on the cake" to our military tribute! One last surprise delighted everyone - ice cream bars were hand delivered by the cutest ladies, carrying darling trays reminiscent of the "cigarette girls" of days gone by. What a refreshing treat… then, the party was in full swing as the band played on!! Looking ahead, there's still time to purchase tickets for "Life's a Beach" - our party by the pool on Sat., Aug. 5, from 6 to 9pm. The price is $18/pp for residents and guests 21+! BYOR (no glass) BYOC (chair) and BYOT (towel) if you're planning to swim! Music, dancing, games, food, and fun are sure to be a delight! Save the date, Oct. 19, for our fall fashion show and luncheon. Plans are just getting underway and we welcome any ladies interested in serving the committee. As we begin a new planning year, we'd like to say a special thank you to Margo Dennis for 11 years of dedicated service to the Social Committee as Treasurer. Her resignation was accepted, regretfully, and she will truly be missed. We also take this opportunity to welcome three new members: Mary Swinney, Joan Voigt, and Maggie Grimes! We appreciate their willingness to serve on our committee and share their time and talents!
