| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2017 | 17 Landscape Committee The latest information we have received from the city regarding the Florida Avenue re-landscape project is that the start date is now scheduled for July 24, 2017 and it will take approximately nine weeks to complete. By the time you read this article you should be noticing the project is well underway. From time to time the Landscape Committee has received requests from homeowners to remove various plants around their home that attract bees due to allergies. While the remedy of removing plants in the surrounding area of the complaining homeowner can partially solve their problem, there are many flowering plants and trees throughout our community that could be perceived as a threat to anyone with allergies to bees. It is extremely rare for bees at work to sting and they do so only when they are defending themselves and their nest. Anyone that receives a bee sting will have a reaction at the sight of the sting, though painful, the reaction is short lived and does not mean one is allergic to the bees. It is well known that the bee population has over time been reduced significantly and signs point to that reduction in our own community. Folks that have a garden or fruit trees know how valuable those bees are to the pollination of their plants. We need to love our bees and not consider them as pests but rather a vital link to the well being of our human, plant and animal survival. The Landscape Committee is looking for a new member and if you have an interest in volunteering, please put in an application at the front desk in the Lodge. We always welcome visitors to our meetings that take place the first Wednesday of each month. Facilities Committee Do we count it a privilege to respect our neighbors? We love our pets! We also care about our neighbors and the appearance of our community. How can we help make a positive difference in maintaining a clean, safe and quiet environment? – By showing consideration when caring for our dogs. Listed below are some positive suggestions by Four Seasons pet owners: • Keep our dogs from barking excessively and disturbing our neighbors • Walk our dogs on a leash to keep them safe and avoid disturbing others • Pick up after our dogs when they make a deposit • Dispose of our dog's deposit in a proper and considerate manner • Consider professional dog training – It really works! Our private community is a very special place. We enjoy beautiful surroundings when driving, biking, walking and talking with our neighbors. Our Association fees provide necessary maintenance and repairs that preserve this oasis in the Hemet Valley. The Facilities Committee is intent on using these funds wisely by progressively maintaining and improving the appearance and functionality of our structures and grounds. We work closely with the other committees to maximize our effectiveness. The cooperation and sensitivity of all homeowners will contribute greatly to the success of our efforts to keep Four Seasons at Hemet a beautiful, comfortable and desirable place to enjoy for a long time to come.
