EVENING ON THE VERANDA Join us on the Veranda the first Wednesday of the month for some wonderful entertainment. The talented Renee Rojanaro will be out on the Veranda from 6 to 9 pm singing her heart out so come out and enjoy the evening with your friends and dance the night away. Wed., Aug. 2 and Sept. 6. COMEDY NIGHT Fri., Sept 1, Main Clubhouse Ballroom; Doors open at 6 pm, Show at 7 pm, $9 pp Enjoy an evening of laughs with Corporate Comedy Entertainment, featuring three great comedians from the Los Angeles area. They are guaranteed to make you laugh until you drop! This event will be table seating. There will be cocktail service in the Ballroom and a limited appetizer menu from which you can purchase from. Lottery dates are July 31 – Aug. 6. You can pick up your registration forms at the Main Clubhouse Reception Desk. Checks only, limit four people per check, 8 to 10 people per table. Table assignments will be posted in the Recreation Office Hallway by Aug. 10. Now that summer is in full effect, remember that it is important whether you're in the garden, on the golf course or lying out by the pool to protect your skin from the sun's damaging rays. You can keep your skin healthy through the summer months and the rest of the year by following these helpful tips. • Generously apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen every two hours. • Wear protective clothing. • Seek shade when possible. • Use caution near water, snow and sand as they reflect the sun's rays. • Check your skin regularly, and if you notice anything changing see a dermatologist. • You are just as likely to get too much sun on a cloudy or hazy day as you are on a sunny one. • Avoid tanning salons. ICE CREAM SOCIALS We will be serving Ice Cream Sundaes for $3 (vanilla or chocolate ice cream with a choice of syrup, sprinkles, whip cream, and a cherry) (no refills). Join us on the Veranda from 2 to 3 pm on Thursdays Aug. 17 and Sept. 14. MOVIE UNDER THE STARS Sat., Aug. 26, at dusk on the Veranda/Driving Range Join us on the driving range for the showing of Moana. The movie will start at dusk (approx. around 7:30 pm). Bring your golf cart or a chair and blanket to relax under a 22' tall air screen. Please remember chairs and blankets should be in front of the golf carts for better viewing. There will be popcorn for sale for $1. An adventurous teenager sails out on a daring mission to save her people.
