With its strip-style accommodations, shark-filled pool and popular restaurants, it is a hotel rich on comfort and fun in downtown Las Vegas. The rooms in Carson Tower Double measure 364 square feet and comes with two double beds and a sitting area. San Bernardino Symphony: Musical Horizons Sat., Oct. 17, 6:30 - 10 pm, $37 pp. The San Bernardino Symphony was founded in 1929 by Maestro James K. Guthrie, an internationally renowned conductor and community leader. Today, the orchestra, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the region, consistently reaches unmatched standards of musical performance under the dynamic leadership of Music Director and Conductor Frank Fetta. At Musical Horizons: you will enjoy John Wineglass, Big Sur: The Night Sun; Copland, Fanfare for the Common Man; Tchaikovsky, Symphony No. 4; and Stravinsky, The Firebird. Due to some of the excursion refund policies, and to keep cancellations down to a minimum, we ask those who wish to sign up for an excursion to please check your calendar for prior engagements prior to signing up for excursions. REFUND POLICY: 1. Cancellations made 30 days prior to the departure date of an excursion or special event will qualify for a full refund, unless otherwise specified. 2. Cancellations made after the 30 day refund deadline are not refundable. However, if an excursion or event has sold out and there is a wait list, the Recreation Department may issue a refund if the ticket can be resold from the wait list. For theater excursions, please let staff know at the time of sign up if you would like to sit next to a specific person. For casino trips, residents must provide addresses for their guests. EXCURSIONS EXCURSION SIGN UPS: TUES., AUG. 1, 8 AM Del Mar Racetrack Thurs., Aug. 31, 10 am - 7:30 pm, $38 pp. Spend the day at Del Mar Racetrack, where Bing Crosby was there to greet the first fan through the gate as Del Mar opens, the famous Seabiscuit-Ligaroti match race was held on Aug. 12, 1938 and it drew 20,000 to the track and a nationwide radio audience. Also, a young rider out of Texas, William Lee Shoemaker, sets a Del Mar record of 52 wins, and his history and that of the track will become entwined thereafter. Come on down today, where the "Surf Meets The Turf," and enjoy a day of beautiful weather, good eats and fast horses! The gates open at 12 pm and your admission today also includes clubhouse seating and a daily program. Lunch will be on your own, and the first post starts at 2 pm.
