Cherry Valley artist Diane Franklin will demonstrate Wire Sculpture. Diane is a very talented artist in watercolor, acrylics, mixed media and sculpture, so this will be a very interesting demonstration. The Fall Art Show is Sat., Oct. 7. Entry forms for Art League members are available now in the Art League bin at the Main Clubhouse and will also be at the August General Meeting. Save the date for the Art League Fund Raising Dinner to be held on Thurs., Oct. 19. There will be a meeting for those interested in helping to plan the dinner on Mon., Aug. 7, at 10 am in the Arts & Crafts Room at the Main Clubhouse. Art League Wed., Aug. 23 will be the next meeting of the Sun Lakes Genealogy Club. We meet in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room at 1 pm. Membership is open to all and cost $15/ year. Several members are experienced in genealogy work and can be of help to new members who want to get started on a family tree, DNA tests, or writing family history stories. Info., 769-4454. If you have those cute little snails in your garden and just can't bring yourself to get rid of them, train them to race! We're a group of homeowners who meet every Monday at 10 am at the shuffleboard courts for a race between our little snail friends. To participate, simply bring your snail and register before the first race from 9 to 9:30 am. There is a $15 fee that covers the cost of uniforms, court cleaning and live entertainment during the weekly Celebration of the Winner luncheon.
