Roy S. Azarnoff died when he was struck by a car on August 25, 2012 in Banning. He was 81. His wife, Pat, was injured but survived and appreciates the many messages and tributes. Roy's work was in communications in various public agencies, schools, and businesses that benefited people. He was also an award-winning photographer. Roy had a close, loving family. Survivors include his brother Daniel, sister-in-law Joanne, daughter Julie, son-in-law Steve, daughter Karen, son-in-law Eric, grandchildren Tim, Autumn, Andrew, Rachel, Samara, Cami and Paul. Great-grandchildren Alexis and Scott. Friends we will miss Leeland R. Jones passed away in his sleep at his Sun Lakes Country Club home on August 19, 2012, after a long bout with cancer. His wife Mary Ellen (Melon) and eldest daughter Nadine were at his side. He was born in Los Angeles in November 1929 to Ralph and Florence Jones. The family moved when he was very young to the Crescenta Valley where he lived until his retirement. He graduated from Glendale High School, Glendale, California, and then joined his father's construction business. Leeland served in the Army in Korea during the Korean war. He returned to the construction business where he was a plastering supervisor for many significant projects in the Los Angeles area. Upon retirement his wife Dorothy and he moved to Big Bear. Leeland was an excellent craftsman in many trades which is well showcased in the large home he built on the North Shore including much of the furniture. He was always willing to assist family and friends with their projects. Four years ago Leeland and his second wife Melon purchased a seasonal home in Sun Lakes. His remodel of their Sun Lakes home is further evidence of his talents. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Dorothy, son Ralph, brother Clinton, and his twin sister Dahlia Bragdon. He is survived by his wife Melon, sons Stuart (Lori), Brian (Debbie), Keith (Julie) and daughters Nadine Mangelli (Bill) and Connie Villasenor (Ray), eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and his loyal feline friends Chevy and Ford. He was loved by his immediate and extended family and well regarded and respected by a host of friends and associates. A celebration of his life will be held at his Big Bear home later this fall. Stanley Mosberg, beloved husband, loving father and cherished friend, passed away July 2, 2012. Among his many activities, he enjoyed people, golf and baseball, having played professionally, lastly for the New York Giants. Stan was a gifted artist, admired for his oil portraits of sports figures and charcoal renderings of human interest subjects. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, creator of crossword puzzles, playwright and poet. A soft spoken, gentle and compassionate man, Stan served his country during World War Two as a United States Army Ranger in the African and European Theaters. Stan was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor, in which his unit sustained 85 percent casualties. He is survived by his wife Betsy and daughter Hillary Clayton. Reilly Allen died on August 3, 2012, at his home with his wife, children and grandchildren at his side. Lung cancer was the cause of death. He was 83. He was born in Winnipeg, Canada. In 1957, he and Joan of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, were married and came to Los Angeles. For 30 years, he worked in banking; the last 25 with Union Bank. In 2002, they moved to Sun Lakes. Reilly loved everything about Sun Lakes and we are thankful he had ten wonderful years here. He is survived by his wife Joan, daughters Theresa and Maureen, sons Paul and James, grandchildren Daniel, Jessica, Sean, Brian, Lauren, Mary Claire and Reilley; daughter-in- law Julie, and granddaughter-in-law Diane. He missed the pending birth of his first great grandchild in October. The family wants to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, good wishes, gifts of food, support and love.
