ASSEMBLY REPORT Joe Formino, Chairman, District Delegate Assembly DELEGATE To continue our review of the Advisory Committees, if anyone would like more information, contact your Delegate or the Committee Chairperson. This is the month to raise your hand and volunteer to join a committee. The Board of Directors needs help to fill out the rosters of the committees. Too often it is necessary to ask residents to stay on a committee for the lack of volunteers. This situation is not really good, the committees need new members with new ideas and enthusiasm. One of the far reaching committees is the Recreation Committee. Jim Hamlin, the Chairman, and his committee members have a very broad agenda. They plan the recreation schedule of sightseeing trips, on site events and oversee the amenities of our complex. All of this is done with the Recreation Staff. Our Recreation Staff, led by Charlye Sessner, present all of the plans and programs for the enjoyment of the homeowners. Further, they monitor the pools, tennis courts, bocce ball courts and the use of the three clubhouses. Next time you take a trip or use the facilities, think about the staff and the committee who make it all possible. It wasn't that long ago we did not have our wonderful lounge and dining rooms. When they were added to our facilities, the Board of Directors established a Restaurant and Lounge Committee. Many residents wondered "why." Now they know. Janice Cave, Chairperson, and her committee have enhanced these facilities by making them more appealing and enjoyable. Anyone who complains about our menus or pricing is not aware of the comparison with those on the outside of our complex. Richard Murray, the Food and Beverage Manager, and his staff are to be commended for their presentation and care of our community. The committee works along with the staff making suggestions and attempting to keep our residents well fed and content with the offerings. It is sad to think there are residents who have never used our dining room or Sandwedge or lounge. It would be nearly impossible to find another complex with our amenities and our facilities that have so much to do within our walls. It takes a lot of people to operate them, both staff and homeowner volunteers. Isn't it time for you to take your turn and help out your community? The Advisory Committees need you.
