Ad Hoc Water Management
Anxiously we have watched rain clouds form over our local mountains all summer. All we have gotten is dirty cars from splattering drops.
This has been no help to our demands for water during the hot growing days. We consumed four percent more water during June and July this year than in 2011 and paid 28 percent more for it. Our annual consumption is still below our 5-year average as 2008 and 2009 were very hot and dry compared to the last three summers. For good news our irrigation repair bills through July are only 69 percent of the 2011 bills. Info., Chairman Len Tavernetti, (909) 744-2388, ltavernetti@hotmail.com. ~ Len Tavernetti
Bistro
The Bistro Committee met on Tuesday, Aug. 28. We welcomed our newest member, Richard Yanes.
Several items were discussed including a new refrigeration system for the Bistro kitchen, a clock for the bistro dining area and the next "Meet and Greet" for new homeowners.
It was announced that a proposal submitted to the Board of Directors to allow a local florist to
place fresh flowers on the dining tables, at no cost to the HOA, was disapproved. The florist wanted to place a small business card with each floral arrangement. The Board said that this could lead to other businesses wanting to do the same.
The next meeting is Sept. 25, at 11 am, in the Lodge Conference Room. All homeowners are invited to attend. ~ William Taylor
