COMMUNITY NEWS Manager's Update At the Open Session Board meeting held on Thursday, Sept. 13, the Board of Directors approved the following committee recommendations: • Bistro proposal to install a walk-in refrigerator/freezer for the Bistro kitchen ($23,513) • Finance proposal to transfer $25,000 from Springdale Operating into Springdale Reserves • Landscape proposal to remove flax plants from Phase C sidewalk areas and install more appropriate shrubbery ($2,900) • Landscape proposal for a Springdale ribbon cutting event for the landscape upgrades ($200) • Landscape proposal to bid out picnic area tables and benches • Rules and Regulations proposal to place numbers on parking spaces on the south side parking lot for the parking lot sales (not to exceed $150) • Safety and Facilities proposal to sponsor the Emergency Preparedness Program's Disaster and Preparedness Expo for Jan. 12, 2013 (NTE $500) • Safety and Facilities proposal to replace the shower fixtures in the Spa locker rooms (not to exceed $500) • Safety and Facilities proposal to replace the refrigerator at the pool BBQ area (not to exceed $300) By Lisa Lynn, General Manager The Board of Directors reviewed and acted upon the following business matters: • August 2012 minutes – approved • July 2012 Financial statement – approved • Facility use for the Chamber of Commerce's meet the candidates for the City Council and Water District elections to be held on Oct. 17 - approved • Replacement artificial Christmas tree and wreaths ($3,100) – approved • Vendor bid for pest control of rabbits ($700) – approved • Requested Rules and Regulations Committee to review Game Room use guidelines • K. Hovnanian, LLC agreement for recreation center – tabled • K. Hovnanian, LLC bond releases -tabled Management reported to the Board the completion of the following items: • Ballroom storage cabinet installed • Poker table tops received • Mail station received • Annual Inspection completed • Light switch at Amphitheater installed • Door mats for Lodge/Spa buildings received complements of K. Hovnanian • Inner/Outer thigh machine for fitness center received Management reported that 30 violation letters were sent out during August. • 18 for landscape or lot maintenance • 3 for parking • 2 for signs • 5 for hoses • 1 for architectural issues • 1 for pet issues The Board of Directors suspended facility privileges for eight members for delinquent dues, bringing the total for suspended privileges to 19 current members. There were 25 accounts with balances over 90 days past due. The Board meeting is held on the second Thursday of the month, with the Executive Session at 9 am in the Lodge Conference room and the Open Session at 1 pm in the Lodge Ballroom.
