Winter Wish: Over 20 Years of Generosity Winter Wish has provided gifts to children in need for over 20 years. It began in 1990 when a principal at a local school expressed concern about a few families at her school. She approached the Beaumont Soroptimists, who the partnered with the Beaumont Chamber, and 11 families received much needed clothing and other items that holiday. Last year, over 750 families were helped by generous individuals, businesses, service clubs and volunteers who provided gifts, food, money, service and time. Each fall, Winter Wish is given names of students from the Beaumont Unified School District who may need help at the holidays. These families are contacted and, if they are interested in participating, their children's needs are determined. Each child is assured a much needed clothing gift as well as a non-clothing item. For some kids, these are the only gifts they receive. This year, we need your help. Winter Wishes will be available for purchase at the Beaumont Chamber office and other locations in early November.
