SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | AUGUST 2017 19
By Berkie Harris, Resident
A sun loving group of Side Pocket Sisters
spent the afternoon of June 28 bobbing and
weaving in Edith Reed's backyard swimming
pool to celebrate – well, to be honest about it
– themselves! This year the Sisters had the
party catered by Hemet's Downtown Deli
and, of course, Madame President Edith
made her delicious sangria punch. Needless
to say, a good time was had by all.
The group meets Wednesday and
Friday mornings at the Lodge to play
billiards. Quarterly tournaments are held,
as well as parties. A team also competes
in the OLDlympics. Beginners as well as
experienced players are welcome.

On June 25, about 50 of us had quite a treat in store in
the Ballroom. While not our first brunch here, it was the
best we've had in my humble opinion. Richard, his sous-
chefs and staff worked very hard to give us a wonderful
experience. Music played softly in the background as we
ate our fill of fresh fruit, pastries, muffins, custom-made
omelets and scrumptious waffles with several different
toppings. Not only did we have plenty to eat, we had
our choice of juices, coffee, and champagne to wash it
all down with. It was a lovely way to meet and mingle
with fellow residents as we enjoyed another delightful
day at SDV!
