12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2017 | Access Control Committee As promised we want to keep your attention regarding the upcoming RFID project. To date we have focused on advising you of how the overall system will operate. Today we want to give you the "Warm-and-Fuzzies" over the reliability and benefits of these tags. One of the first questions asked was: Will this tag come off during car washes and general vehicle cleaning. The answer is no. These tags are extremely rugged and can withstand extremely high and low temperatures, and numerous car washes, plus pretty much any regular daily activity. Warning: It is extremely important that you must NOT use any abrasive cleaner in order to polish your headlamp in the area of your "tag," especially with toothpaste or metal polish etc. Other comments to be aware of are: 1. Tags are NOT transferable between users. 2. Any effort made to remove the tag will make it inoperable, and you will have to pay for a replacement. 3. When this process is complete, the existing "Fobs" will only be for use within the Lodge amenities and pedestrian entrances, and NOT as a substitute for vehicle access. 4. Once mounted, tags cannot be accidentally removed, not even in car washes etc. 5. This technology will allow more information from our users to be stored on the chip that is used by our dwellingLIVE software for better gate control, and can be beneficial in the event of accidents, theft or vehicle transfers. Southwest Security Needs Your Help! Southwest Security was granted the security services contract effective July 31 and from the onset, they have faced a plethora of access issues caused mostly by residents who fail to list their guests and service vendors into dwellingLIVE prior to the arrival. It is every resident's responsibility to enter their service vendors and guests into dwellingLIVE, which includes: contractors, gardeners, healthcare providers, Dial-a-Ride, shuttle service, bingo players, realty and estate sales… just to name a few. The Entry Process is Simple: 1. Every single vehicle that does not have a working transponder must go through the guest lane to be verified on a resident's or employer's pass list and show their photo ID – this includes residents who do not have their transponder with them or if their transponder is not working. 2. Every single guest and/or service vendor must be entered into dwellingLIVE BEFORE the guest/vendor arrives at the gate. If not, they will be turned away, and directed to contact their destination party so the resident can get them entered into dwellingLIVE before going back through the guest lane to be vetted for entry. 3. Please do not call the main gatehouse to have your guests entered into dwellingLIVE. It only interferes with the security officer's main responsibility, which is to manage the traffic and vet the non-residents for entry. To assure that your guest/ vendor is not delayed or turned away at the gate, please call the lodge at (951) 325-8188 if you are unable to enter the pass into dwellingLIVE yourself. Please allow ample time in advance of guest arriving to put guests in dwellingLIVE. 4. Everyone please be patient and kind with the access control process – Southwest is only doing their job as directed by our HOA and trying to protect our community! Here is a reminder of the various ways you can provide access to your guests and service vendors: 1. If you are not familiar with using dwellingLIVE, you can pick up an instructional document titled Online Visitor Registration at the Lodge. 2. Log onto https://community.dwellinglive.com to login to your account on dwellingLIVE (or to create an account) and enter the pass permission from your home PC. It is best to enter your guest or service vendor driver's name as it shows on their driver's license. Names must be spelled correctly. 3. Download the dwellingLIVE app onto you cell phone and enter passes using your contact list. 4. Establish your account in the Directory located at the main gate – fill out the form at the Lodge – you will be assigned a code for your account. The guest/vendor can then dial you up from the Directory at the gate using your code and then all you have to do is push "9" to open the gate for them to enter. This process is typically used for after hours when the main gate is not attended. 5. If you do not have a PC or cell phone, you can always go to the Lodge to enter your guests on a PC in the Computer Room. Or, ask a Lodge attendant to enter your guest(s) by going to the Lodge or calling them at (951) 325-8188.
