10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2017 | Social Committee Can you believe that we are already in September — summer's end? It seems like only yesterday we were planning our Fourth of July event that was a smashing success! Yet, here we are winding down the summer events as the Social Committee nears completion of our 2017 calendar. We are already planning events for 2018! We hope that your summer was a memorable one — whether it was spending time visiting with grandchildren, venturing out in your RV or simply enjoying those lazy days by the pool — we hope summer 2017 was the best. Speaking of time passing too quickly, we have already rolled in the outdoor movie screen, and put away those bags of popcorn that were for your summer enjoyment. Summer movies were the courtesy of our Activities Director, Louise Ceccarelli, and the Social Committee who provided those delicious popcorn treats for all to chow down. What a great time it was to view movies under the stars with our neighbors. Pool Party Cancellation/Social Committee Concern: Our Social Committee, as you know by now, had to cancel a highly anticipated event — the "Pool Party." Our Committee takes seriously our commitment to our community to keep activities continuous for our homeowners. We believe that what separates us from all other senior communities are the activities provided for our community. These activities are the catalyst for breeding camaraderie and friendships that sustain many of us in our senior years. As our families have grown, they are busily living their own lives, some near, some far. Being retired and alone, we find ourselves with a lot of time on our hands. So having community activities that offer us socialization with our neighbors, as we build new lives for ourselves becomes a very important component in our daily living. We need, however, your participation and purchase of tickets for these events, which is critical to each event's success. Without community involvement, activities are canceled and with lack of community interest they can easily become diminished. We are asking all of you to become active in our events. Sign up for our committees and join in the fun of putting on an event. If you have new and fresh ideas, do not be shy. Please, we welcome your ideas, we are always seeking suggestions. After all, this is about you, and we are simply a committee of volunteers, here to serve you, our community. So we are hopeful the "Pool Party" will be the last event we have to cancel. Next time you see an event posted, and tickets are on sale, do not procrastinate, get in line, buy your ticket, for our sales are what indicate if the event will go on. If you are new, please come on down, make new friends, become a part of something bigger than just buying your home here in the Four Seasons. Join the Four Seasons family. Upcoming Events: Our next Social Committee event will be the Ladies Fashion Show Luncheon, "Fifty Shades of Fall." Tickets will go on sale on Sept. 19 at 10 am, so do not miss this chance to buy your ticket and attend the event! This event sells out fast. Fifty Shades of Fall is certain to be a delightful event to share with your lady friends. As many of you already know this has always been a special event in years past and we are certain it is going to spark a flare this year as well. Chris Pounders is the Chair of this event and has assembled her creative committee, who are all busily preparing a Fashion Show and Luncheon for all the ladies of the Four Seasons. We look forward to seeing you all in attendance and do not forget to mark your calendars so you do not miss the ticket sale date. The Social Committee is here to ensure that your experience living in the Four Seasons is a memorable one. We hope to see you all around the neighborhood and we look forward to your continuous support of our community events.
