22 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2017 | Many of you may have heard that are having a Fall Marketplace event here at Four Seasons on Sat., Oct 28, at the Lodge. This event will include arts and crafts, swap meet, clubs and committees info, food, drinks and live music. The A R T Group will have a booth at the Fall Marketplace. A R T Group, stands for Appreciation, Recreation, Teaching. Artists here in four Seasons have met and shared our art, talent and ideas for many years with our Four Seasons community. On-going art classes are reasonably priced, as are the special one-time classes, to help keep art affordable for all. • Classes in oil painting • Two different teachers have been teaching acrylic painting techniques on two different days for a number of years • Toile painting • Beading classes. • Once a month there is a greeting card class • During the year we also have several paint nights — At these you paint, snack on goodies and take home a finished painting • The one day classes and demonstrations we have held have included Holiday Wreath making, Gourd Carving, Alcohol Ink, and Christmas Card Tree class Our special art event is the annual "Fine Art Show," for our artists to show and sell their original fine art. This show includes a yearly art project for our residents who say they are "not" artistic, to create a master piece for our Lodge. Check out this year's Starry Night picture in the hall to the Art Room. We have also had trips to area art museums to see and discuss art. For the past three years we have had the Crayons & Crafts for Kids event in which we collect art supplies to give to a school in need and a Hemet shelter that helps families. We have also maintained the Gallery Wall and Cabinet with our resident's works of art for the last 4 and 1/2 years. Volunteers and helpers needed. All of these projects and events rely on the generosity of our artists and volunteers. This booth will need helpers to coordinate plan and work the booth. We want to share our artistic talent and all we have to offer with our community. We could use any photos of past art events, I'm hoping to display them. Sign-up sheet is in the Art Room. "ANIMALS IN ART" GALLERY CALL: The Gallery Wall and Cabinet is always open to all residents of Four Seasons to display their original art work. This January we have an Animal themed show planned. It may be a painting, ceramic, fabric, jewelry, photo or works that have an animal theme to it. The works go up on Jan. 2, 2018 at 2 pm and come down March 1, 2018 at 2 pm. We will make every attempt to show at least one of your works. You must fill out the information and sign up on the sheet in the Art Room. A R T Group
