36 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2017 | Now that the Bocce Club regular season is over, and the winning teams received their awards, it's time to plan our Bocce Scramble in October. We encourage new players to come out and learn and try something different that introduces the players to a fun and easy outdoor game. If you have thought about trying Bocce, this opportunity is stress free, since it is for fun. It gets more fun when we celebrate with a BBQ after the two game schedules. Listed below is the outline of activity scheduled in parallel with Shuffleboard also scheduled for October. You can play both games or just Bocce. See you in October. We will play on four Thursdays in October beginning Oct. 5. Sign- up sheets our located at the information desk at the Lodge : The $5 fee per person will cover two Thursdays of shuffleboard and two Thursdays of Bocce. The first game will begin at 9 am on the Shuffleboard Courts, the first arriving 12 two person teams will start first. As games are completed, the waiting two person teams play when courts are available. Games will be Oct. 5 and Oct. 12. On Bocce Thursdays, the first eight teams will begin on the courts and as courts are available we will start the next teams when possible. The initial start time will be 9 am. There is no set starting times or schedule of who plays what team, first come first teams play. Games will be Oct. 19 and Oct. 26. We will track the points of the winning teams for boasting rights only. No awards will be paid. The money collected will cover the entrée portion of the BBQ to be held at 5 pm on the last Thursday of play, Oct. 26. We will pot luck the rest of the meal. You can play on more than one team with a different partner since this is for fun only. The Shuffleboard Club will be planning a two game scramble series beginning in October in parallel of the Bocce Club. This is for fun only and awards will not be given out other than a BBQ planned at the very end of the Olympic style game series. You can play Shuffleboard and Bocce for a four game series or just play Shuffleboard. This gives players who have been thinking of trying Shuffleboard and Bocce a stress free opportunity to learn.
