Kellogg House Pomona is a lovely, historical estate that once belonged to cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg. Constructed in 1926, this spacious ranch-style home exudes vintage charm and offers mesmerizing views of the San Gabriel Mountains. While in use by the Kellogg family, this house was a destination point to many celebrities of their day, such as former President Ronald Reagan, Walt Disney, Will Rogers, Rudolph Valentino, Gary Cooper, Charles Lindbergh, and many more. Kellogg donated his home and world famous Arabian Horse Ranch to an educational institution, which we know today as Cal Poly Pomona. Arabian Horse Demonstration: The horse center dates back to 1925. W.K. Kellogg had a longtime interest in Arabian horses, and purchased 377 acres for $250,000 in Pomona to establish a ranch. After erecting the first buildings, Kellogg funded the development of an Arabian horse breeding program, which (as of 2008) remains the oldest in the United States and the fifth largest in the country. Today the facility is home to approximately 85 purebred Arabian horses used in Equine Sciences teachings, outreach, research and internationally recognized breeding and training programs. Facilities at the center include 38 acres of pasture, three barns, foaling stalls, a breeding area, a veterinary clinic, a farrier shop, four arenas and a grandstand. You will be able to take a tour of the facility and watch the horses perform. Buffet Luncheon: Overlooking beautiful, rolling hills, the Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch at Cal Poly Pomona boasts one of the area's most romantic and chic settings. The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch is operated and managed by students. Today's buffet luncheon is included for you to enjoy. Photo By: Pfc. Margaret Gale
