| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | 35 Paisano Club "If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him." ~ 1st Century Zen Master Linji Yixuan Of course, it goes without saying, you do not physically kill the Buddha. Zen Master Linji Yixuan was, from an enlightened mind, mind you (excuse the pun), seeing and expressing Truth. How could there be a separate Buddha or a separate Christ, etc.? There is NO SEPARATION. Our very nature is the same as Buddha's and the same as Christ's. What we would be killing is the notion of separation, of someone being "better than." more "elevated than us." Further, and more importantly, there is NO SOMEONE, there is only GOD and GOD is Formless Intelligence, Vast Consciousness and that's what we are. My goodness we spend a lifetime trying to find this out and that's if we're interested! Most of the time, we're not. Rather, we proceed from an individual 'I' praying for salvation for that individual, not ever realizing we are not a person, that already all the Power, all the Love, all the Grace is within us and that's what we ARE. What if one of us could deeply hear this message?! Blessed are they! SATSANG (GROUP MEETING WITH A SPIRITUAL AIM) begins with a 30 min. meditation (15 min. if new people are present) followed by a discourse and a short video presentation offered by a teacher adhering to the teaching of Non-Duality. Questions are warmly encouraged. We meet in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. We meet Sundays from 11:30 am to 1 pm. This is a FREE offering. My background includes 29 years of formal spiritual practice under the guidance of two masters and eight years of teaching (six at Sun Lakes). You need not bring anything except an Open Mind. My name is Gina and I can be reached at gina-sat@msn.com or 846-1220 if you have questions. Meditation: a pathway to truth Our next RV rally is Oct. 29 through Nov. 3. It is at the Wine Ridge RV Resort and Cottages in Pahrump, Nevada. Our trail bosses will be Jim and Sandy Alexanian. Contact them if you are interested in going to inquire if there are still sites available. (951) 381-1292. We will have our annual pizza party on Oct. 18 at 6 pm in the South Clubhouse. Any prior RV members are welcome to attend. Please contact Peggy Andrews 845-8295. Also, we will be welcoming a new slate of officers then. Club members should have received information about the election. There are planned meals to get together with your fellow RV club members. It is a great group of people.
