| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2017 | 45 Bible Study Our Bible study group is non-denominational. All are welcome. We meet together every week for fellowship and study. On the first Wednesday of each month we meet for dinner before our regular meeting. Reservations for dinner are taken in the meeting the last Wednesday of each month. Bring your Bible, any version, and listen to or participate in our discussion of the evening topic. We're all learning together. We'd be delighted if you'd join us. We meet Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. After fighting the "getting older" angst for years, I have decided that old age is a gift. For the first time in my life I realize that I actually am the person I have always wanted to be — though not my older body, for I sometimes despair over the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. I am surprised by the old person who resides in my mirror, but I choose not to agonize over those things for long. I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, and my loving family for less graying hair departing in the middle or a flatter belly. As I have aged, I've become kinder to myself. I have become a friend of mine. Taking an extra helping no longer bothers me and buying something I don't need makes me feel good. I feel that I'm entitled to a treat or to be messy or extravagant. I have enjoyed sharing memories and musings like these with my friends in our Sun Lakes Creative Writing Group on the first Mondays and third Wednesdays each month (Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room, 3 – 5 pm.) All you need is a pen or pencil and paper or a laptop and a willingness to share.—Dr. Bob Percy. Info., Roger Smith, 769-2808. We meet Oct. 5 and Oct. 19 at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month.
