If you are looking for something fun to celebrate Halloween, check out the Halloween Doggie Parade on Oct. 28 at 10 am on the driving range. I always try to attend. It's a kick. Our next meeting and caregivers support group will be on Thurs., Oct. 19 at 10 am in the Multipurpose Room. These meetings are not only educational for you the caregiver, but are also a support group for you. all caregivers are welcome at these meetings. If you are no longer a caregiver because your loved one is living in a memory care facility, you need this support group. This is another major change in your life and we are here for you. Those of you who are caregivers do not have to be caring for a person with memory loss to attend. We are here to support and educate you, plus entertain your loved one while you are attending the meeting. Our guest speaker this month is Kathleen B. Albrektson. She is the senior partner of Albrektson & Shumate. Her firm recently received the Sun-Redlands Daily Facts 2017 Readers' Choice Award as San Bernardino County's Best Attorney. She will speak on Solutions for the Legal Challenges of Alzheimer's Patients, Spouses, and Caregivers. Her topics will include Medi-Cal Planning, Trusts & Wills, Probate, Advanced Health Care Directive & HIPAA and Durable Power of Attorney for Finances. This is a guest speaker you do not want to miss. At this time your loved one is welcome in the Arts and Craft Room for games, exercises, and live entertainment. This month Ray Rendon will entertain with his wonderful songs from the 40s and 50s. Continuing with "Knowing the 10 Signs Early Detection Matters" from the Alzheimer's Association: Sign #10 CHANGES IN MOOD AND PERSONALITY: The mood and personalities of people with Alzheimer's can change. They can become confused, suspicious, depressed, fearful or anxious. They may be easily upset at home, at work, with friends or in places where they are out of their comfort zone.
