Sharon Rae Blackburn It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Rae Blackburn announces her passing after a brief illness on August 27 at the age of 65 years. She was born September 13, 1951, in Inglewood, California, to Raymond and Marietta Faller. She graduated from Bolsa Grande high school in Garden Grove, and managed a lighting firm in Riverside for over 20 years. Sharon had a knack for solving problems; she excelled at drafting patterns and was equally comfortable wielding hammer and nails or needle and thread (or both) to bring those patterns to life. She enjoyed simple pleasures like camping at the beach and spending time with her family and her cats. She was incredibly giving and caring, and always ready to help others. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 28 years, Charles; and her children Joyce (Kyle), Joshua (Linda), Alison (Brian), and Ryan (Kandi). Sharon will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren Leah, Brandon, Alyssa, Alexandra, Derek; her sisters, Janet and Linda; her brother, Thomas; her closest friend since the age of five, Jane; and by numerous extended family and dear friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marietta; her brother, Ronald; and her sister, Judith. George Dennis passed away on August 26 at home, at age 96, surrounded by family. He was born in Delavin, Minnesota and moved to California in 1950 after serving in the army during WWII. He was in George Patton's division and served in France and Germany and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He and his wife Blanche owned a very successful truck and trailer rental business in Orange for 26 years. They retired in 1988 and moved to Sun Lakes where they enjoyed a wonderful retirement involving golf, bowling, pool, cards, dominoes and traveling with their many wonderful friends. Besides Blanche, his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his children Donna Vano, Linda Santley, his granddaughter Rachel Smith (Eric) and his perfect great granddaughter Ivy. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings. George's friendly smile and demeanor will be missed by everyone who knew him. Allan Everley died peacefully at his home on August 17 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his wife Dianne. His 41-year marriage to Dianne was filled with travel and sports. During this wonderful time, they played racquetball, golfed and bowled, were avid RVers, and cruised the world in their later years. Some of Al's proudest moments were on the Sun Lakes golf course. He shot his age many times, most recently at the age of 82, and he got a hole-in-one on hole 17. Al's family would like to thank his friends and neighbors at Sun Lakes for their friendship and support over the last 17 years. Larry Knowles passed away peacefully August 28, 2017 in Redlands, CA. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn, two sons Marty (Kristen), Vin, and daughter JoBeth (Kenny), and four grandchildren Nicholas, Emily, Scott and Robert. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren taking them on special trips like the Palm Springs Tram or playing a round of golf with them. Larry's biggest dream was to have a home on a golf course. His dream came true 30 years ago when he and his wife purchased their home on the 18th fairway of Sun Lakes. After he retired he became very involved with the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club, becoming President in 2003 and was awarded "Member of the Year" by the Men's Club in 2007. Larry was a terrific salesman, working in different positions with Tidewater Oil Company, Scotts, and various garden supply companies. At Sun Lakes, he was a divot doctor since 2000, was very much involved in the Sun Lakes Charity volunteering and playing in the Pro-Am tournaments. He also was involved in providing volunteers to assist the Women's Club's Member/Guest tournaments. In 2002, he formed Travelers' Esq., planning away games at various courses for the Men's Club. By 2004 he began "Travelers' Coed," including the Women's Club, taking groups of 50 to 125 golfers to Las Vegas, Arizona and various locations in Southern California. He was always upbeat, never met a stranger and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Lola Marie Lammers, born and raised in Montana, lived in Sun Lakes since 1988 and was always involved in the arts, joining tap dancing, the Art League, garden club and others. A painter, she enjoyed spending her time capturing nature's beauty with oil and pastels.
